they have one at my brothers station, and he says its just plain horrible. the weights are supposed to go up high...but the highest one feels half it weight and can easilt be done.   so says my borther. ( a 180 lb fireman....so hes not big or strong at all)

Biggest problems are perceptual, amongst lifters-that the resistance isn't as good as weights (untrue) and that they're flimsily made (true of the original model, no longer so). Add to that long-time associations of informercials with junk (not longer always true, but perceptions lag).

Long-time free weight used before using a Bow. It's used along with free weights and pulleys. All are equally excellent-different feel, all work the muscles fabulously for either toning or size.

I was just asking to see what type of responce I would get.
I agree with pumpster.
I have owned one for over a year now and love it. Just in the last couple of months I have addd a 1/4 inch on my arms using my Bowflex. I am not sure why allot of people think it is not as good a free weights. The body does not care if the resistance comes from gravity it only cares that there is a threat to the system. As long as you are progressing with a bowflex and eating right you WILL get bigger.

Thanks

You can throw pumpsters advice in the garbage bin after you note that he talked about "toning" a muscle.

I never understood what toning a muscle was. How do you just tone a muscle? Are you saying the 1/4 inch I added to my arm in the last couple of months is just toned muscle? Please explain

Monster Triceps also supports Milosovic, which gives him zero credibility. Bowflexes are very controversial amongst BBs, because many are stuck on free weights as the holy grail. I used free weights for decades. What I said is that a Bowflex is equally good for size or toning, as any good resistance is.

No, what I said is that there was no evidence for his prosecution, the trial was about to end in a few weeks, they found no 100,000 muslims in mass graves (total only about 10,000 dead muslims in a war that lasted for a decade). Then he winds up dead along with two other serbians.
Suck it, you fake. You are nothing but a 17-year old punk.

Strange also that the great Muslim nations didn't rush troops in from the middle east and other parts of the world to protect and save the mostly ethnic  Albanian Muslims from the bloodbath that followed. With all those trillons of dollars made from oil profits,  surprising that the Arabian peninsula kingdom's (as well as Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, etc)  didn't respond at all, either with financial aid or military support. Guess it's business as usually for the Islam nations own self interest. Or was the mixed Slavic blood of the Yugoslavic region, giving some  Muslims blue eyes and blond hair, another factor? Those evil infidel Americans had to take control and stop the slaughter of the great Islamic brotherhood.

I tried a bowflex once, it was fun! but i would never use it haha i just played around. i could see it being good for someone that just wants to tone themselves up after a long day at the office.

A buddy of mine bought a Bowflex. I tried it, felt a little diferent. I think it's very useful. His wife can hang twenty shirts on it prior to doing her ironing.

Anyone with knowledge knows that Bowflex offers no "negative " resistance.

The bowflex is just a good a anything else. To say it does not produce muscle growth is complete ignorance. If this is a fact then please explain why it won't work instead of posting garbage remarks.
In regards to negative resistance. The negative part is equal to the positive at any point of a bend.
