Have you fished it? If so, what is the biggest you have pulled out of it?

They don't grow much past 5'6" 5'7".

I suppose that since it's never been against the law to be a natural retard that turning yourself into one via drugs should also not be a crime.

Dope is for people that want to do nothing all day and feel they've accomplished so, so much.

Drugs should be legal. Not too sure why the government is telling adult people what they can and cannot stick into their bodies.

Sounds like republicans who love little government intervention, have no problem with government telling them what they can smoke. Interesting. Very interesting.

You do realize that this sort of mindset can easily be crafted to allow anyone to do anything.  So-called "recreational" drugs do nothing for the betterment of society in general and quite often turn the user's life into poop.

I am not come to argue, just state what I hold true.  I've seen first hand with family the result of "recreational" drug use and can assure you it should not be made legal.  My youngest brother is dead from suicide due to "recreational" drug use destroying him mentally and physically.

I know college professors with PhD's and medical doctors that smoke marijuana.  ??? ??? You'd be SURPRISED how many successful people smoke marijuana.

If you're a successful, hard working person, then weed will not turn you into a lazy bum.

But if you've always been a lazy bum, then smoking marijuana will perhaps make you even have less drive.

However, it will rarely turn a successful person into someone who is apathetic, unless they start getting into more hardcore drugs. Marijuana alone, I highly doubt it.

Alcohol doesn't lead to the betterment of society. How does alcohol in any way, shape or form, lead to the betterment of society?

In 2013, 10,076 people died in drunk driving crashes - one every 52 minutes - and 290,000 were injured in drunk driving crashes.

WHO: Alcohol Abuse Kills 2.5 Million People Each Year. The World Health Organization is calling for action to reduce the harmful use of alcohol, which kills 2.5 million people every year. A new WHO report notes nearly four percent of all global deaths is related to alcohol abuse.

Anyway, a little marijuana will hardly ever kill someone. As stated, many successful people use marijuana responsibly. It has not destroyed them.

And since this thread is about pot, that is what I am discussing.

I don't drink alcohol.  I never have and never will.  And pot is dumb.  I see no benefit from being a fuzzy headed doofus and therefor I don't take anything into my body that will bring that about.  I cannot change the laws regarding alcohol but neither do I want stupidity and laziness (think of something along the lines of a "Million Wiggs Walk") made legal.

As for doctors et al, smoking dope.  So what?  Fifty billion flies eat shit but that doesn't make it healthy.  The world rails against tobacco (and no, I don't smoke cigarettes or cigars) but squeals Animal Farm delight at the wonder of pot.

"It's soooo natchural, maaaan....".

No thanks!  Agree to disagree.

No, no, you're changing your position. Your ORIGINAL position was that pot will make people LAZY RETARDS. You never said anything about HEALTH. Now you're changing positions.

You said:

I posted a counterargument that pot ALONE and in moderate use, does not make people lazy and retarded, as you earlier suggested. Then you go on to say, "doesn't make it healthy." I never said it was healthy, did I? I was responding to your original post that it made people lazy and retarded. I provided anecdotal evidence that not everyone who smokes pot in moderate use is a lazy retarded bum. But then you go on ranting about health. Great, but that was not what you originally said, and my counter-argument had absolutely nothing to do with the health aspects of it.

Thus, pot used alone and in moderate use, will most likely not make a successful person into a lazy, retarded bum.

The health aspect is another argument/issue.

Sigh... I'm not changing anything.  I am adding to it.  I despise pot and other "recreational" drugs.  I cannot stop people from using them but neither do I have to kowtow to said use.  You never said  anything about "health" but why then does it make it verboten for me to do so?

It doesn't.  Again, I don't care for this stuff.  I think it is stupid to use such crap and so I don't.  It destroyed my youngest brother.  There is a real reason this crap is called dope.  I cannot fathom how making it legal makes it all better except to take away the supposed stigma of the law.

We are never going to see eye to eye on something like this. It is far too polarizing for me in that I have lost a loved one to this shit. It all started with pot.  Not a gateway to more powerful and addicting substances?

Family experience says otherwise.  Your mileage may vary and you may do as you please.  In my life I have had people light one up in front of me and  I tell them I cannot abide that stuff and so I leave.  Do I do so when they drink?  If I know them to be a lush, damn right I do.   I've been around drunks and it sucks.

Again, we will never see eye to eye on this subject and so I will not insult either of us further by participating in this discussion.  I have held fast the cold lifeless body of my little brother pulled from the coroner's freezer and wept tears for a loss that should not have been.

Be well, my friend.

You're adding to it? But you never addressed my statement about the many people who use pot in moderate use and are still very successful and smart people. Do you agree that your original assertion that marijuana makes people into retarded lazy bums, to be 100% true? How can you believe that to be true when there are probably millions of successful people who use marijuana in a moderate use? Thus, how can you add or move on when you never really responded to my anecdotal evidence? Did you conveniently just gloss over it?

And just because your brother could not use it responsibly, how does that apply to other people? I know a professor who has been smoking pot for over 25 years. Published in journal articles, has written books, and goes to work every day. How do you reconcile your belief that it makes everyone lazy, retarded bums, when I present you with a successful woman who uses pot?

I was right about you what I said last week. You will never EVER change your views, no matter how much you're wrong. This is the problem with you.

You provide a general statement that pot makes people into lazy, retarded bums. I provide you with someone who it did not do that to. Yet, you still hold onto the belief that it makes people like this. Shame, that you cannot admit when you're wrong.

Be well.

lol.  :-\ :-\

I live in NYC, probably one of the richest cities in our country, and they barely fix any roads lol.  ??? ???  Same potholes in the ground since 2 winters ago on the highways.

Besides cops, fireman, teachers, sanitation, and corrections officers, its baffling where the rest of the tax money goes to.  :D :D

Do the rich/super rich drive in NYC? Or are they driven around for the most part?

It depends what area of NYC you're talking about. If youre talking about Manhattan, then many of the rich people who live in Manhattan have cars, but they leave their car in a garage and get driven around.

If you live in another borough (Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island), and youre super rich, then you definitely have a car. You sort of need a car when you live in the other boroughs. But I am sure these people also have drivers.

I used to go fishing at Lake Fork by Sulfur Springs and I remember it being dry there. DNR made me pour a fresh case of beer onto the ground while I was unpacking the car at the fish camp. Best bass lake in the country though!

Lake Fork used to have the state record bass. I think it was around 17 pounds.

Waxing philosophical about how life has blown him around like a tumbleweed and laughing at how hilariously oversized his hat is.  A stoned Texan is not a pretty sight.
