We just dropped a shit load of cash on gym equipment for the house so the wife does not have to train at my hardcore gym. So she stressed that she did not want to go out and do anything she just wanted to watch movies, eat pizza and fuck. So me being the hopeless romantic I am I hit her with the idea of building a fort in our living room and hanging out in it drinking wine, eating chocolate and pizza and watching movies. She said that it was fucking stupid idea and it is something a child would do(now I ran this by female coworkers and some of her friends and they all loved it) So we ended up ordering pizza watching Straight Outta Compton and some porn in the bedroom. Later that day she asked me what happened to the Wine and Chocolate, I informed her it was a stupid idea and fell through with the fort and watching movies.

This morning from her I got a box of chocolates an unsigned V-Day card and an unsigned Birthday card (my birthday was last Sat the 6th) Needless to say I don't think she was impressed

this past xmas I went out and got the my girl all sorts of things that where well thought out . After she opened up all her shit, the first thing she said was wow all this and you couldnt even just get me a card and write something thoughtful in it. She still bitches about it today), i actually think it fucked my sex life up for a few wks in december and jan.

I don't mind Valentines day if the man and woman plan an evening out.

What makes me angry is how valentines day is thought as the end-all, be-all of a relationship.

For example, I knew a guy who was dating this girl for a number of years. This guy, based on what I know of him and their relationship, was a great boyfriend. He did EVERYTHING for his girlfriend. He was a class act.

Last year, for whatever reason, he forgot Valentines day. HOLY SHIT, it was WW 3 in their home. It didn't matter that hes been a consistent, good boyfriend for the last X amount of years. Nope! He missed that one day, and that's all that mattered.
