Quisp and Quake:

I have a buddy that special orders Quisp cereal from a store in Chicago. I thought they quit making it 35-40 years ago. He pays around $6 a box plus shipping. It takes him back to his childhood I guess.

Zucaritas aka Frosted Flakes.  When I lived in Guadalajara my "mother" quickly learned that was my favorite cereal.  Other favs include Raisin Bran, Corn Pops, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Product 19 (which can be hard to find).

But seriously, its between cinnamon toast crunch and reese's puffs. Most times I'll mix them both into some almond milk (can't do real milk) and enjoy the f**k out of it!

Is this stuff actually good?  It's like 8 bucks for a tiny pouch!

Also, not sure if granola counts as cereal but it's by far the best.  Can't let this thread go without a mention of the classic, sweet home farm:

I have no idea, I've seen it in grocery stores, but I actually don't eat cereal very often so when I do I opt for the sugary crap haha

Just got back to eating cereal again. The only one I can tolerate is Cheerios because it doesn't have the crazy amount of sugar that most of the rest does. I just picked up a box of Raisin Bran.  Though I was going to crap out my stomach I was in such pain.

That's why I like to treat cereal as a dessert at night or post-workout if I don't feel like eating rice/yams.
I hate the "healthy" cereals, they all taste like cardboard and hurt my stomach. The sugary ones taste good, but shouldn't be a breakfast food. I have no idea how parents are OK with their kids having cocoa puffs or cinnamon toast crunch for breakfast, but freak out if the kid drinks a soda. They're the same thing! One is liquid and one isn't.

"sugary" and "healthy" cereals ::)

oh brother, there are three types of cereal:

standard: ~25 g/oz carbs, low fat, low protein
granola: same, but high fat (5-10 g/oz)
"healthy": usually slightly higher in fat, has some soy protein too (~10 g/oz)

sugar ranges from about 5-15 grams per oz.  if the carbs don't come from sugar, they come from refined starch.  what's the fucking difference?  they have the same affect on your blood sugar.

micros are all shit, unless enriched.

all "healthy" means is it has a bit of soy protein added in, and may be enriched.  absolutely nothing to do with "health", whatsoever.  the only cereal that is really significantly different is granola, since it can have up to 2x the calories per serving, as it's coated in oil.

oh no, the cookie cereal has too much "sugar" ::) better reach for the special k!  that is, a bunch of ground crack that passes through your stomach in 2 seconds, reconstituted into flake form.

Maybe someone pissed in his cereal, but he's right. Most cereals are like candies.
