Cruz can't win the country.  Rubio is the GOP's best hope.

I like Cruz but I'm beginning to think you're right.

LMAO!

Doesn't he have hundreds of separately incorporated projects?  So a couple go bankrupt big deal.  This is why things are separately incorporated, so the various entities limit the liabilities and assets at risk.  It's like having a fleet of a couple hundred cars and having a couple in accidents.  It's expected.  A cost of doing business.

He was never personally bankrupt and is worth 10 billion.

Not even close. Another example where people project their personal views to the other groups. Catholics are the largest sect in the Christian faith. Even those that are not Catholic and don't like or believe in the Pope don't like someone like Trump criticizing him.

There's a reason Trump took back his comment about the Pope. There are a lot of Catholics out there -- and they vote.

And exactly what skeletons are in this Pope's closet?

Projecting personal views is exactly what you are doing making psychic predictions concerning the fall of Trump.  The Pope couldn't have been more stupid.

X2

I have an email "pen pal" who lives in India who dreams of one day living in America. I once asked him, just off the top of his head, the one reason that stands out as to why he wants to live here. He replied, "I just want to know what it's like to live in a place where even poor people are fat."

Even poor people here live better than most people in the world.

Just one of the reasons that America is so great.

Ironically, so-called worldly progressives like Bernie Sanders have to pretend that people like this don't exist, as those people invoke a comparison to American poor who are, on average, over weight. Why are they overweight? Because of the efficient mass production brought to you by Capitalism.

I like Cruz but I'm beginning to think you're right.

You guys are forgetting who is in the Democratic race. A tree stump should be able to beat either of those two freaks.

Actually no, I was initially a big fan of Trump. I found him will very appealing and engaging -- at first. But as time went on his luster is starting to wear off. And I'm not going just by me. There are other forums that discuss politics other than GetBig. Forum dedicated to politics full  of people that live and breath this stuff. It's not just polls anymore. Poll have gotten less accurate than every before. I mean, who even answers their phone anymore unless they know who it is from? And for those that do are they representative of the majority of voters?

As far as the Pope, the fact is that there are a ton of Catholics that care very deeply about what the Pope thinks. As for me projecting because I'm a Catholic -- hardly. The Pope is a man on the Left and I don't give him a second thought as to his opinions on America politics.

I don't see him tearing down the Vatican walls and letting just anybody in.

You would think so but elections are determined by the undecided. I keep hearing, even from Ann Coulter, how Cruz comes across as creepy. They hate his voice. Considering that the undecided voted for Obama because he's Black and they really had no clue as to what his policies were, it's not like people, I believe most people, are making informed, educated choices. They don't have time and they really don't care. It's based on very superficial things. Remember Nixon beat Kennedy on the radio. On TV the handsome Kennedy beat the sweaty Nixon.

As oppose to Cruz, I keep hearing about how Rubio is handsome, even cute, and speaks well and has a nice voice. If he was a few inches taller he would be a shoo in.

That's what wins elections nowadays. So because Hillary and Cruz are both considered creepy and are disliked personally, Rubio has a better chance to win.

The Catholics in America aren't some kind of "tribe" of people like the Jews. Catholics don't just stick together no matter what in this country. Most of them were embarrassed by the Vatican and what went on behind those walls and the cover ups that went on. Many left the religion because of that and never looked back. And the Pope comments about Trump were not only misinformed but dumb. You started this thread saying the fall of Trump starts today solely based on the Popes comments. The pope is basically a sideshow that not really a lot of people take seriously. Even many Catholics...Many Catholics in America are businessman. They could give a rats ass about some fruit in a robe...

Coulter thought Romney would win. She was his biggest supporter. How'd that work out? I don't give a fuck if Cruz is a nice guy or likeable. You need a bit of a prick to do what needs to be done in DC.

That is a way to reorganize a large company.  Corporate bankruptcy is not the same as if a private individual is bankrupt.  Trump is a very successful businessman, extremely so.  He is also a master of media, spending less than all the other top candidates yet he still gets, by far, the most press.  I would rather see one of the other Republican candidates get the nomination, but to deny that Trump is a successful businessman is incorrect.

I don't consider Jews some tribe of people that stick together no matter. Especially considering that most are Liberal and it's the Liberal that are more apt to not support Israel. But I don't think many, if any groups, that stick together no matter what.

And of course Catholics are shocked and disgusted as to what went on in the church. Just like good cops are shocked and disgusted when they find corruption in their department. But that calls for reform. Being born and raised a Catholic and still a practicing Catholic I don't know a single person that left the church because of the corruption. Not one. And I know a lot of Catholics. Are you a Catholic?

And whether you think the Pope's comments are dumb is your opinion. What matters is the effect it will have. You don't bash the Pope and hope to win the affection of Catholics.

And once again another example of one who reads more into what I said and puts their own spin to promote their own agenda. Read my first post. It had nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! to do with the Pope's comment. The Pope is not even mentioned. That post was made before it was even reported on the news. I had no idea the Pope made any comment at all when I made that post and started this thread. But somehow you read it as my comment was SOLELY BASED on the Pope's comment. "SOLELY BASED" meaning the only reason, and he was not even mentioned. Not even vaguely alluded to.

Why do people like you do that? Just make things up. Make things up that are demonstrably false?

Unfortuantely, many do. I consider that claim that Cruz is not liked by his peers a plus. The Republicans have done a terrible job.

Wow, what a low energy thread. People have been saying he's declining since AUGUST! This is a movement that is only getting stronger, Trump is self funded and destroying both sides of the political arena. He is a common sense candidate who needs our vote unless you want to live in a socialist state and pay higher taxes.
He even made the Pope look like a fool today. At least he stands up to people.

Ultimately Trump wins the Republican nomination and then goes on to win the Presidency.

It's too early to make predictions, things are very dynamic and uncertain.

I think the elite want the Socialist going up against the Capitalist(Bernie against Trump) And they don't care who wins. They just want to get the word socialism into the public and not have it be a "bad" word anymore. If Trump wins, they most likely will get their war in the middle east. And if Bernie pulls it off, socialism is here and is most likely here to stay...The Elite can't lose in this election...

Not gonna argue on any point, But I feel like most people aren't ready to pivot and start coping with a whole new dynamic. The whole world is changing, be ready, be flexible. Be ready, more than anything, to help friends and family.

The same voting base who would vote for Bernie in 2016, by and large will not show up in 2018, so he basically has 2 years and with that being said, you are still looking at a Republican majority in the Senate and House that he would have to fight with.

The biggest consequences of Bernie winning would be the 2 and possibly 3 Supreme Court Justices he would pick which would shit all over the Constitution.

If it wasn't the Popes comments, why did you pick today to be the fall of Trump?

For me, Hawaii time, it was yesterday when I made the post.
Why? I've being feeling the trend recently, from personal experience and a few other political based forum on the net, that the people that support Trump -- though they still support him, are starting to question and raise their eyebrows.

Why yesterday in particular? A good friend on mind that was a rabid supporter of Trump is no longer going to support him. Attacks on Cruz. Nasty personal attacks on Jeb. Starting to back track on as promise not to run as an independent. Making claims that seem dubious and cannot be proven (personally saw hundred of American Arabs publicly cheering after 9/11). That he oppose the Iraqi invasion which maybe he did but there is no record of that. That he claim Bush KNEW there were no WMDS and said they were anyway. How did Bush get so smart? What did he know that the Russian, French, Israeli and UK intelligence agencies didn't didn't know? It's one thing to say that Bush was wrong, quite another to say he lied.

And though I didn't plan on voting for Trump for the nominee, I was a big fan of his and actually for the first time looked forward to the debates. But now it's beginning, again, BEGINNING, to wear thin.

Nonetheless, there is nothing in my first post where I mentioned the Pope or his comments and did say specifically: "It's not one big thing. It's a bunch of little things starting to add up and take it's toll."

So to say I started this thread SOLELY BASED on the Pope's comments is just wrong and disingenuous.

Even though I alluded to it, I feel I better make my position crystal clear before others start putting words in my mouth. I believe the Pope's comments were not only wrong, but very unbecoming and unseemly for a Pope to make. To say someone is not a Christian just because he wants a wall to protect our borders is just very inappropriate and categorically wrong.

As I mentioned previously, I don't see the Pope tearing down any walls protecting the Vatican.
