you might be the only person in the world that thinks terminator works better as a comedy
it wasn't just a movie about robots it was about humanity and the strong possibility that life does not move forward, it took a non serious genre like science fiction and made it serious which is why it was liked by almost everybody that saw it, unlike star trek or most science fiction that is only popular with nerds

How the entire terminator movie was made in the 1980's, with it's effects, technology, people, culture etc. is unique. But I don't have any problems with terminator 3.
With all the technology we have today that we didn't have in the 1980's, people have changed, the culture has changed.
How would you out do the disco scene in terminator 1? Yes, back in the day it was flawless, terrifying, cool, sexy, but I don't think you could pull it off today, not even close. I say the theme needs to be modern. Something people of today can relate to.
Now, don't gimme wrong, I don't think classics should be redone, but I get it if they want to do another sequal to show how it would work in todays world. The story is the same, but it has more details.
