I accept that you have strong feelings about this but as previously discussed the *war on terror* resulted in radically increased terror.

In order to recruit new terrorists, ISIS claims the west has declared a war on islam. Actually doing this is tantamount to surrender in the battle for hearts and minds.

The problem was that the "war on terror" was just used as a soundbite by the US to control the resources of the Middle East but actually had nothing to do with defeating Islamic terrorism. The toppling of secular Middle Eastern leaders like Saddam while remaining friendly with the worst Islamic despots in Saudi is testament to how little the Western nations truly care for the fight against global Jihadism.

If the intentions behind the "war on terror" were sincere, it may have been more successful.
