he had no problem with obnoxious press conferences and other tv work when he was winning.
this new magical excuse of "I cannot train AND talk to the media" is pure bunk. You make millions BECAUSE of your personality and entertainment for the fans. You're not paid to be a great fighter... you're paid because your presence/personality/show draws in millions of PPV buys. And he had no problem with all that pre-game media stuff AND training when he was kicking everyone's asses.
UFC offered to move his entire gym + rebuild it identically so he could train uninterrupted. How many hours a day is he seriously training that he cannot take a few hours daily to do press events? He wants back in the fight but I bet Dana White keeps him out so the next fighter doesn't pull this bullshit. Fake retirement, "thanks for the cheese"... he's coming across as a real douche.
Good points but at some point too much press commitments WILL take away from your training.
And him being Conor McGregor the company is going to lean more on him to promote the fight than anyone else, including the guy who just beat him.
If the UFC is grinding him to the level to where it's a distraction then it is an issue.
Now if he's complaining about going to the occasional press conference or having to put in a weekly phone call to Joe Asshole on the Morning Zoo in Bumfuck Nebraska then he doesn't really have a leg to stand on.
I think Joe Rogan nails it at 2:30
