once upon a time, the western genre was the most popular on the silver screen, super hero movies could end up the same way as western did.....saturation is never a good thing
Yup.  A "horse opera" they called them.  A horse opera in space is exactly what the original Star Wars was.  And I agree on the saturation aspect as it diminishes the grandeur of it all.  In the 60s and early 70s "The Wizard of Oz" came on TV once a year and was deemed a big deal, an event if you will.  
The same is true of basketball.  In the early 70s it was once a month or so, usually on ABC's Wide World of Sports.  All sports were this way.  Now there are networks and shows dedicated to bringing the public nothing but sports.
Meh.  A little sugar in your coffee or tea is fine.  Too much and you gets the diabeetus.
