I think about someone like Dennis Newman after his return.  Now very different circumstances considering Dennis' health situation after several years of layoff and then to come back and not look close to where he was. 

Or take Victor Martinez after his layoff due to jail.  Came back, blew up, but no where the quality as before. 

Is Levrone genetically superior to Vic and Newman?  I would say so.  He's healthier to boot.  Of all the 90s bbs the ones I would pick to have success in a legit, quality comeback would be Levrone and Wheeler.

NEWMAN was only 3 yrs from his 94 usa win 'peak'in his return in 97 and he looked like newman 'lite' kinda close but not like he did in 94,,newman could not go all out like he did prior..kev while awesome for 51 really needs to go 'full throttle'with todays drug protocals that are nowhere same dosed pharma's as his prime,,unless he has a great hook up..

I remember reading when Newman made his comeback that he used Mexican anabolics whereas before that he had used European. Anyway, that's what he blamed his condition on.

You have to make the distinction of looking like an Olympia contender, and looking like you could enter a pro show. Kevin would have to be at his 99, or 2000 form to be a serious threat in the Olympia. Just not realistic at 51 yrs old.

He needs to change the way he hits the bdb pose and lean back the way Phil does. Standing straight up exposes the lack of density in his mid and lower back. Leaning back will bunch it up it a little. Just like Phil does.

If his BDB is anything like it was in 2000, then he has no chance from the back. Here is a pic of Kevin from 2000 Mr. Olympia. His lats completely disappear in the BDB.

If he was just planning to guest post at the Olympia then I would be in agreement that this will be remarkable and inspiring. He's planning to COMPETE against the best People in the world. That is different than just standing by yourself.

To me this just proves bodybuilding has become a joke based on drugs because if he can come back without training regularly and do well...then it's the drugs.

I hope he has an afterparty. I'm sure lots of people will go to that

I agree. If Kevin didn't have a good back 14-16 years ago in his 30's, people expect him to have a better back now while he's in his 50's? People need to wake up.

If Kevin shows up in solid pro bbr shape he could beat Rhoden, Wolf, Ramy, Roelly, Branch.....I would think Phil, Dex and Kai would be solid competition.

U got to be kidding? Beating Rhoden? Yeah, if this was the 90's or 2000. Rhoden came off a 3rd place finish, I was never a fan of his physique, I like levrone more, but realistically don't think that is happending

You're completely correct.  I am rooting for Kevin and hope he does well, but time is undefeated, no matter how great of genetics one has.

I am not mad at Kai at all. Here's the thing. He's building his brand in a very smart way. Plus his peers actually like him.

The IFBB had to do something this year to generate excitement.

I don't think the bikini Olympia is enough to garner excitement. I wonder if The Rock will be involved at all like doing backstage interviews.  If that happens Hopefully Cedric will compete to come up with some one liners

Vince Taylor... He placed well in 2006. At 2007 O he wasn't in great shape but was still "himself".
