Still looks like he did in 1977. Shriveled up, prune like and still 105 pounds.

I met Frank Zane at the original Gold's gym many years ago.. I was a star struck fifteen year old aspiring bodybuilder and remember engaging in conversation with Frank as he was doing a set of standing calf raises..

He was very gracious and friendly as he changed the subject from bodybuilding to offer me some sincere advice.. He spontaneously encouraged me to stay in school because that was the most important thing .. What a great person he was to be a positive influence to a young person like that ..

Attended his seminar in the late 70's and had a similar experience. Basile tells  a story where Frank said he did not respond to email from people he does not know . . .  I email him once a year ( could be Christmas, his or Christine's birthday ) and he never fails to thank me for my kind word and gesture.

I've never met Zane, but I've always wanted a leg blaster. Over pricing of peace.

He didn't invent the leg blaster. He bought the rights from a guy named Moore who built it and sold it in Ironman magazine. It really shows a lack of character that Zane never came clean and stated he didn't invent the thing.

I don't know what kind of flute it was in fact it was almost like a Kazoo. But anywho, I think Frank Zane is overrated. He tried to take advantage of many people along the way but who could think that of hippie Frank...for God's sake he's in touch with nature. Built his physique on nuts and barley. Picked dandelions and made an elixir from it to stop the common cold. Floated his troubles away in his flotation tanks and listened to the birds chirp while sitting legs crossed apple sauce.

1) Operated a hippy camp in Palm Springs.

2. Arrogant (Most smart people are...I try not to be, but I have one hell of a problem thinking he was smart)

3. Brutal 17 inch arms (listed as 18 but that is a lie)

4) Tries to pass himself off as a health nut, granola type of guy but still takes steroids.

5. Swimmers build

6. Did not deserve to win the Olympia.

7. Was given the gift of winning the Olympia to further promote his business (Zane Haven) and buy advertisement in Muscle Builder plus garner more interest in bodybuilding with his good looks. Weider believed that Zane would bring the hippies and women into the bodybuilding world. And he was right.

8. Still loves his wife.

9. People talk about how proportionate he was well when you weigh 170 pounds...who cares.

10. He looks good for his age. Well dummies, if you take care of yourself, stay skinny that shouldn't be a problem. Over eating, being large equals very tough and hard on the body and its systems. Zane was never large and never big, if he didn't take steroids he'd probably never break 150 pounds.

11. The People that are in love with him are the people with piss poor genetics that believe his physique is attainable. Also the Uncle Rico's want to travel back to the past because they believe it was a better time, therefore are madly in love with Zane.

There was a fella at my gym who was a manlet with piss poor bodybuilding genetics, and he would actually do phone consultations with Zane! He even thought he was natty. The naivety of this guy was beyond pathetic.

Seriously? I didn't know that. I'm surprised because the people that went to Zane Haven he didn't mention one ounce of drugs only nutrition. So he must have kept that separate. I'll never forget seeing floatation tanks, first time ever. He really pushed the meditation thing along with getting in touch with the body and earth. His wife was beautiful and I always wondered if she knew that he was on steroids and not just granola.
