It's so so sad seeing a perpetually poor person trying to act wealthy & successful while blowing his cover & owning himself with every post.  :(

i kind of have a hard time believing he would spend 1200 on anything let alone a second vehicle.  i think if this was bought , it was by whomever he went with.  you got to remember he tells half truths.

i don't think he would buy a second vehicle. even at such a low cost. he has 1 parking spot at his apartment complex.

I think it's best to lease cars for 2-3 years. One of the few joys in life when you reach a certain age is a new car. If you have 2 cars on lease you can work it out so you're getting a new one every year or so. You also avoid having to deal with repairs when things start to wear out and the embarrassment of driving around in an old POS
All that money goes down the toilet though and you have jack shit to show for it.  :-\

I hope this works out for you. Junkers that cost what you paid are rarely a good deal. You do realize that jeep you bought is over 30 years old. What's the usual lifespan of an automobile? Like I said, I wish you well with your purchase.
No such thing as "lifespan of a car".  I used to drive a 1959 Cadillac as a daily driver.  If you take care of a car, it will outlive you.  Unless you buy plastic Mazdas that look like Micro-Penises with wheels.

That Inline 4.0 looks VERY clean.

I know that engine well.  My very first car was a brand new Jeep Wrangler with that 4.0 in it.  I put a chip in it and exhaust and used to take out Ford Mustang 5.0s all the time in it.  Even had it lifted with 33 inch tires, Warn 9000 winch, Black Diamond shocks, military leaf springs and Diamond Plate on the entire rear.  I used to take it to Uwharrhie and ride the trails.  I would skip school some times and go out there all day off-road.  Some of the most fun I ever had!

That engine will last forever and was updated solidly from the 50s and on, using pretty much the same layout.  They don't build cars correctly anymore at all in my opinion.

They build cars not to own anymore, but for morons looking to lease-  Throwaway society.

Good job Vince.  I miss my Jeep!

a beat up car from 95...good luck with that lol... You're better off leasing shitty but new prius. That car you have there will be a headache

In my yonger years I owned older cars thinking I would save a penny by fixing things myself. But then I owned myself by spending hours fixing those things. Time = Money

Wised up...

Actually, it won't be at all.  Its a solid car with a solid engine.  One of the best cars Chrysler has ever produced and certainly better than what most manufacturers make today.

Owned yourself fixing things?  You think learning how to actually do something, a skill, is a waste?  Strange.  No wonder why everyone is so helpless these days.

Furthermore, leasing is what a certain group of people like to do and now its seems its trickled over to people like you even.  Sad!  All those payments with nothing to show for it.  Do you tell people that its your car?  Its not.  Leasing is more embarrassing than actually owning a cheap car.  At least to me it is anyways.

Fixing a car up can be fun if it's a car you have on the side.

For a daily beater not so much. And there is not much "to show for" in an old car even if you replaced most parts on it. Other than an old car that you have to replace further more parts on eventually.

I lease a car, I pay a monthly fee for 2 years then take it back and change it for a new one, trouble free motoring, its not my car, so what, im glad its not, any repairs all done under warranty
As for nothing to show for it, so what, all cars depreciate to zero eventually.

TA bringing the truth.

I'm sure we all can agree it doesn't matter how old or beat up a car is,  if it runs someone will drive it and if it's for sale someone will buy it.

That's life. I will make more if I have to. I lease luxury cars (usually BMW although I also have an Audi now). Acquiring things, getting ahead, making money ... these things give meaning to my life. I don't understand how people get any joy out of being miserly and living risk-free lives. To each his own though

I am not a car guy, so I don't get the whole idea of people who are obsessed with their cars. If Vinces car gets him from point A to point B, and its reliable, so be it!

When you lease you are the registered "owner" although title remains in the hands of the financing company.
