Actually, if you run someone over with your leased car the law considers you the "owner." Federal law protects the leasing companies from liability. Of course you can't sell a leased or financed car I assumed that was understood but I see you take things very literally

If you payoff a financed car you can sell it. People do this all the time by using their vehicle as a trade-in.

The fact of the matter is this:

If someone has the money to buy, they buy. Most wealthy people dont lease cars. The same people who lease cars are the same people who would buy the car outright if they won the lottery.

Mostly wealthy people I know lease their cars. A car is not an asset. It is an expense.

Being tight with Money doesn't mean much when you earn just enough to get by  :D

rat race living  :-\

despite what some people say here, we honestly don't know what kind of coin Vince pulls in.

I get the feeling he has made alot more than we think and has been playing coy about how much his websites have really made.

Leasing these days is so affordable, that anyone can just about lease a car.

That's the hook. Lease payments are less than when you finance. People who can't afford to buy or get financing often lease instead. In either case, a down payment is required. You still pay interest, it's just called something else.

You have no idea what I have. Leasing 2 cars for me is a negligible expense that's well worth it given the satisfaction that I derive from driving them, which is only on the weekends since I do not really drive during the week
HAHAHA even better.

Leasing a Dindu mobile to drive "on the weekends".  Most people would buy the car that they "only drive on the weekends".  You have it all backwards.  Literally throwing money down the toilet.  Who the hell told you to do this?   ???  The good thing about a lease (not that there really is anything good) is that you can drive the car whenever and don't have to worry about mileage (as long as you are under your limit LOLOL), yet you are treating it as if you actually own the car.

I suspect you walked in the dealership, they sat you down, shocked you with the 300 dollar payment a month to get you in a new BMW and you salivated at the thought.

If you run someone over with your leased car you will be deemed the "owner" for purposes of a civil suit. Federal law protects the leasing companies from liability. Society is a little more sophisticated than you might imagine

You are splitting hairs over the word 'owner'. Nobody is buying this.

I read a story about Steve Jobs leasing a new car every 30 days for the sole reason of never having to put a license plate on his car. lol

Here's the thing, you are using this thread to brag. Nobody here gives a shit about what you can or cannot afford. You drive these cars to impress strangers.

Every 6 months it seems. Odd loophole in CA law that someone with a new car had a maximum of six months to affix the issued number plate to the vehicle.

That depends. If you own this car, it is an asset.

He did say leasing a car gives him meaning in life. I can't fathom how leasing a car can give anyone meaning in life. Very baffling.

I mostly live in a city during the week so there is no need for a car. Virtually everyone in my building leases their cars and we are all way more successful than you will ever be. We could buy up all the property in your shitty town for what one of our places costs

not a valid point for this thread

nobody would use a car like that as a daily beater

in most hands that car would be a garage queen and taken out like 5 times a year...

I think Prime has a valid point, but Goodrum is never going to be able to afford one of those vintage sports cars that can, perhaps, go up in value over time:

Should you want to buy one, there is one for sale on EBay for just under a million dollars. It has a cloth interior though.
