Anything more than a 4% interest rate is pure robbery. They must be able to do better for you Vince.

"1"

Now Melvin won't rest until he gets a lower interest rate! Guess that property is a pipe dream.

yes and no

mostly no

Ok.  So back to the issue at hand - the interest rate.  Any Getbigger could walk into a dealership and buy a new $50K car for  ~4% for 60 months. That $50K car will end up costing over $55K.  This isn't all that different.  He is looking at over $13K in interest on something that has, or should have, a lesser depreciation rate than a car, right  ???  Regardless, he's gonna be paying thousands in interest on something that will be worth significantly less when it's all said and done.

Would you consider lending money to Melvin?
If he can't pay you back, then you could consider it a charity to a needy man trying to survive in an urban environment with limited education and mental capacity.

I am sure he knows a lot of gay men via NAMBLA. A popular gay man should have no trouble finding a partner to invest in a dwelling. He will then need $100,000....interest rate problem solved.

The interest rate is a true mystery. 10 percent to anyone in these times is the exception... I can see that with a 17 year old or a homeless person with no credit but other than that... weird.

When Melvin Goodrum opened a site with my full name and linked it to NAMBLA then the gloves came off. That dude is despicable, even for Getbig.

Well I checked with FHA and Lending Tree.  They gave the interest rate of 4.5% from the lenders but the problem is that its for a 100-200k loan.....way more money than I need than to be stranded with and its pretty much what I expected.  The amount I'm requesting isn't high enough.

FHA doesn't originate loans so not sure you checked with them

Lending Tree and all those other sites suck too

You're a veteran so call USAA (I told you this already)
https://www.usaa.com

100k @ 3.875% (on a VA loan) gives you a monthly payment of $ 470.23

50k @ 10.42% (on that shit loan you were offered) gives you a monthly payment of $ 454.38

Aren't you making something like 60k a year in your IT job or whatever it is you do (I can't recall) ?

Forget about trying to find something "cheap"

Try finding something that is a value and a real house that will last and actually appreciate in value and not some glorified mobile home

Even better, go find a duplex or tri-plex and rent out the other units (not sure if VA will allow a tri-plex but I think FHA will)

Why? Many people get roommates to help pay bills. It's actually very common in the US.

We'll see, I'm checking with FHA and Wells Fargo but its not a make or break type situation as I still plan to pay it off early.  However, I checked on the Samsung Frame TV and its high priced for what it is.  I hope to get the price down but I need some other options from you fellow Getbiggers on a TV set

Agnostic is correct that Costco is excellent for TVs, and they also have the most generous return policies.

70k between my business and work however.....I'm still not going to take out a loan for 100k-150k just to get a low interest rate.  As I stated before, its not of any importance since I will pay it off in 5 years.  I'm only taking out what I need.
