Again, I disagree with all of you.   Its going to be nice to own my first house.   Have to go in tommorrow to sign some more paperwork and find someone to build a deck.

Why on earth you post this information on Getbig is a mystery. You always boast about buying a new tv, car, etc.

And so it begins, land is being set up along with wiring and sewer.  As I've confirmed, there is no DSL or cable internet services out there so I will not be doing any network gaming at my place whatsoever....but its worth it and I have a great 4G mobile signal.   I'll actually save even more money now actually with that being the case

Here's some pictures of the property....thought I'd post it before the mobile home is placed there

This is the surrounding area.  Very nice with woods, open field and a river that's in walking distance for fishing.

Vince the one on the rt of the pic looks like its tipping sideways?  Is that just the pic or did it sink?  Do they set the trailer on gravel?

I'm not going to be a naysayer. It is a pretty spot and I hope set up goes smoothly.

Congratulations.

My guess is the camera was set to shoot panoramic which can distort images somewhat. If you look at the house on the left of the photo, you'll notice it appears to be tipping in the opposite direction.

It's a sinkhole zone.

That doesn't answer the question.  What is the foundation platform to make sure it's level and doesn't tilt or sink?  Ground is sprayed for what?

Ground is sprayed to insure animals Don't try to get under it.  As far as leveling is concerned, I'm not a home builder and d ont wish to be.  It's being set up by Clayton Homes so I'll let them do their job and stay out of the way.

I'm not setting up the mobile home.  That's what I'm paying Clayton Homes to do.   They are also building the deck as well...one 10×20 in the front and a 4×5 in the rear with solid pine.   It's going to be fine, Henda.

You would think they would put a concrete slab down and secure the home to it. If you have a big storm it could be a worry.

So where is the garage for your two cars?

thank god its solid pine... swiss cheese pine or particle pine would be awful, Pine is not a good choice for outdoors, is it at least treated pine?

I kid you Vince, but if you are going to use wood for a deck, while pine is the cheapest, it doesn't last long. Composites like TREX or its competitors will last much much longer. It is a bigger up front expense but since you are planning to stay there a long time, the cost will be negated. I know for some looking at the initial investment and how cheap pine is to composite seems the better value, but a guy like you, that looks at the big picture, certainly you can see the value of staying away from pine which rots and warps at a faster pace than almost any other wood.

This Clayton Bigsbee Homes outfit, do they own the auto auction too? That would be convenient, leave the wheels on, so in a couple years it can be wholesaled or traded for a Jaquar with a salvage title.

Only because I have used pine... I wish someone had guided me to at least a harder wood. I have used trex and the deck I had built in 98 is still going strong. Killed me to pay the up front cost but it paid for itself. Now there are more options and trex isn't as expensive as it was at the time.
