Got the Bose System yesterday and just tested it out.  I made the perfect choice.  Going to get a Southtouch 30 as well to pair along with it

Ive got the Bose mini soundlink I've had for a couple years. I don't think it is available anymore. I use it to play rain shower noise at night. Surprisingly robust for it's size

Soundtouch 30 is quite impressive. You can use bluetooth to connect to radio stations and phones, etc.

The way the mini link sounds, I can only imagine what the 30 sounds like. I may go ahead and buy one my friend is selling for $70. I'm sure I can find a use for it.

Moving along. Form's and reinforcement next.  Or if you're using concrete pavers instead, ground prep is essential for a stable result.

Clayton Homes

"Picture this: you’ve placed your home order with your home center, your order has been confirmed with the home building facility, your home is being constructed and you’re anxiously awaiting the day you can move in to your own slice of the world called home. While you wait for your home to complete the home building process, there are a few things that will need to be taken care of on your home site in preparation for your new home to be delivered.

Each home site is unique, so land improvement options and site prep tasks will vary for every new homeowner. During your home buying process, you will work with your home consultant to choose land improvement options and learn what all needs to be done to your home site to get it ready for your new home. Site prep and land improvement options will be completed by local contractors that your home center will help you find. Check out these different land improvement options that you should think about before your home arrives!"

I guess it is up to Vince to insure a stable foundation for his home.

The mobile home is going to be on pavers on top of a concrete poured underside, then covered with skirting.  It will be very stable

Why bother with the paving? If it’s not seen just do away with the paving and pour a few extra inches of concrete to make up for the depth of the paving, no real difference in strength but cheaper and quicker

I'm going by what the contractor says.  Setting up homes is not my specialty so I'd rather go along with someone who has set up 100's of these places than using Wikipedia.

I also do this for a living and I’m not “using wikepedia”,no proper foundation for anything is laid on “pavers” other that when diy’ers lay a few 3x2 flags as a base for their shed or greenhouse, why the fuck would you go to the hassle of laying a 2 inch thick paving slab in minimum of 4 inches of wet concrete and having to level every flag when you can just pour 6 to 8 inches of wet concrete, tamper it and be done?

I wasn't talking about you...I was talking about myself not knowing about setting up homes.  I'll trust the contractor in setting up the home and make sure it passes inspection.  If he fucks up, he'll have to fix it at his own dime

No biggie.   If I don't know about something then I either ask or hire someone who does.  The only thing I did is simply find a reputable and experienced contractor to handle the foundation.  Setup and Delivery is all done by Clayton Homes.

My house was actually completed and is sitting in Easley, SC as building one takes only 7 days.  I'll go down this weekend to check it out as well as the property to sign off on the placement

You already covered this with Clayton homes and that's great. Other folks who might be thinking about buying a mobile home might not know it. That's my point. Did you think it was a criticism?

If I wanted to downsize, I might look into prefabricated homes such as Glide House or Turkel Design, this one has 1710 sq ft, http://www.turkeldesign.com/products/td3-series/td3-1710.html

I saw the pavers comment on top of a slab and thought "why?" I can't think of any reason to add pavers to a poured slab that will be covered in skirting and I am curious as to why the contractor would do it. the only reason that comes to my mind is adding to the cost.

Pier and Beam construction.  The trailer will have a crawl space underneath.  Pavers are cheap form of piers.  It's not about adding cost, it's about doing the job, cheap and fast.
