Of course he's not,but statistically he has a winning percentage of 100 there.
The only reason he won it on the first try is because they created it when he was at his peak.

#1 Dorian Yates: 15 pro wins, 17 pro contests, 88.2%.

#2 Lee Haney: 11 pro wins, 16 pro contests, 68.8 %.

#3 Flex Wheeler: 16 pro wins, 32 pro contests, 50%.

#4 Jay Cutler: 15 pro wins, 31 pro contests, 48.4%.

 #5 Chris Dickerson: 10 pro wins, 23 pro contests,43.5%.

#6 Ronnie Coleman:  26 pro wins, 66 pro contests, 39.4%.

#7 Kevin Levrone: 20 pro wins, 62 pro contests, 32.3%.

#8 Vince Taylor: 22 pro wins, 72 pro contests, 30.5%.

#9 Dexter Jackson: 18 pro wins, 63 pro contests, 28.6%.

#10 Chris Cormier: 11 pro wins, 72 pro contests, 15.3%.

So if Phil Heat retired after his first year as a pro ( 2 pro wins,2 pro contests) he would have been the most dominant? What a bad decision to stay  ;D

Arnold could have won from 1970 until probably 1984 if he wanted to. He knew there was no money in it , wanted to be a star. Arnold is bodybuilding , nobody beyond a few people know who Haney is.

A 1980 version of Arnold would no way have beat a 1984 version of Haney.

Everyone here claims the 90s were the best an most competitive era in BB.

And Yates dominated that era.

Nothing against Haney, but his main competition was Gaspari.  Not even close to what Yates had to defend.

Gaspari and Labrada and Benaziza (later years) were Haney's strongest competition at the time. You could throw Demay, Christian and Paris into the mix as well. Guys like Beckles, Robinson (Robbie) and Fox were all out of their prime. So yes, Dorian's competition was far greater and far deeper than what came before or after.

What are you basing that on?

That doesn't spell dominance. That spells lack of competition.
Who would a competitor dominate other than their competition?

Arnold is famous for being an actor not a bodybuilder, if Haney had gone into movies and had been as successful at it as Arnold he would be as well known as Arnold.

Yes --- only Haney didn't, And He Isn't.
Your wrong also as most people do know Arnold for his 'Bodybuilding / Muscleman Physique'
& Mr Universe Etc Plus his Film Fame & Political Fame.
Great going for a boy from Austria with an unpronounceable name.

He was an actor and politician who did bodybuilding, fuck me, no one cares about his bodybuilding only bodybuilders.
Sean Connery was a bodybuilder who competed but didn't have a huge build when he started acting, he didn't use bodybuilding to get where he was, Arnold did.

If you ask anyone what titles Arnold won they may hazard a guess at Mr Universe, not many people will tell you he was an Olympia winner, its because no one outside bodybuilding has ever heard of Mr Olympia.

Yea u ask anyone to name a famous bodybuilder they'll most likely say arnold. you don't have to know the titles and ins and outs

So they're ignorant of bodybuilding competitions. Not of the fact that Arnold was a bodybuilder.

Most Sandows? Arnold could have won 10 or more if he wanted to. Doesn't say much. Haney was chasing Arnold's record. Arnold set the record to chase. And Haney LOST the muscularity round to Yates who was in his first Olympia contest ever despite being 10lbs lighter and being his only third pro show. Dorian forced Lee to retire! You can make a case that Dorian ' ruined ' bodybuilding but doesn't change facts. Dorian is the most dominant bodybuilder of all time.

The only thing you are wrong on is why Haney retired. His wife had enough. I talked to Lee about 10 years ago and asked him if he missed competing he said every time he gets out of the shower. He said that he was thinking about getting in shape to guest pose the GNC show but I think they canceled it. He jokingly said something about his wife letting him do it.

This is a quote from Lee at the conclusion of the 1991 Mr Olympia

Well Lee are you going to retire now? You know something I've been competing now for 9 years and I finally learned how to peak. So I might be around for a few more years.

He retired needless to say , No one can say with a straight face Dorian wasn't part of the reason he retired. He was smart to do so. Retired in the best shape of his life undefeated set a record , smart man. Great champ.

Used to speak to Wayne a lot few years back. He said the first thing that Lee's wife said to him at the show after Lee won was "he's done". It was his health that she was most concerned with. Come on man Lee knew what these guys were starting to do. Do you think he wanted to start using massive amount of GH and slin just to win a couple more Sandows?

Being the narrowest Mr O ever is an achievement too.....let's praise him for that.
