The Amex BCP is better for my spending style because the cash always seems to make more sense than points.

Chase Freedom is also really cool card and has a referral bonus that might be useful.

There are great products out there from PenFed and Navy Federal. USAA deserves a mention, too!

I hate flying. I try to avoid it at all costs. But its the fastest way to get anywhere. I wish they would invent something that can take you from Point A to Point B in the same amount of time as flying (but where youre not 25K off the ground).  ??? ???

I have a $10K limit and start charging more things.  The credit card companies aren't stupid and make billions of dollars for a reason.

Yeah that is the trap. You got to have enough will power not to buy shit you can't afford. The trick is to spend 3% of your limit and NEVER NEVER NEVER go over 30%. That way your score goes up. Credit is a game, you have to know the rules.

I've been a Costco shopper for well over a decade. Always pay cash, never had an Amex card but have Visa and a MasterCard.  Now they take Visa, the temptation to buy more than what I'm carrying in cash is fucking insane.  I used to love Costco and now need to stay away.

Your rationale is interesting and somewhat flawed. The new Costco visa is from Citi bank. I don't believe you earn credits/cash rewards at Costco when using visa cards from other sources.
