It was rebroadcast on European TV. Photos of the cash are all over the Internet. One of the hostages who is a priest confirms that they couldn't be released until the plane with the cash arrived.

Actually the only reason many non Trump supporters knew about the ransom was because of the coverage of the video comment, which it turns out did exist.  But it backfired on the media.  People care way more about the ransom than some mistake (if it even was one).  Just like with the DNC emails, you guys are tone deaf to what people care about.
