Samir Bannout
Height: 5'7 (170 cm)
Contest weight: 195 lbs (88 kg)

Notable victories: 1983 Mr. Olympia

Shawn Ray
Height: 5'6  (169 cm) (He's damn liar if he says 5'7...Hi "Sean" :-* )
Contest weight: Between 205-215 Looked his best around 205 (92kg)

Notable victories: 1991 Arnold Classic.

IMO it's closer than I thought it would be.  I just assumed Shawn was better but when putting Shawn vs. Samir's best in 1983, I find it hard to find a show where Shawn would be better.
BTW, Shawn did a video recently on the best bodybuilder under 212 and he stated himself that Samir would be the only person he would worry about and I'd have to agree.  I actually have Samir edging him but my opinion can be swayed if I see proof. To me, Samir's bdb is just too much for Shawn who has a great bdb in his own right.

Only onstage photos. Offseason means shit. IMO, Shawns best is either 1994 Mr. O or 1996 Mr. O.

Yep.  Me too. Never thought I'd think that until I saw pics.  Samir was perfect for that show. He should be the standard for classic physique.

Yes.  It's why I said at their peak because Shawn destroys him on consistency.

Samir had the better aesthetically pleasing type physique(ala Rory Leidelmeyer and Serge Nubret) but Shawn Ray was definitely a more developed bodybuilder.

That's because in 94 he suffered a car accident which messed him up. Then later he was attacked by neenjas. Tough luck I suppose.
