I also remember Robert de Nero in "Cape Fear", unbelievable physic for somebody of 47/48 in that time. Dennis Quaid has also an almost impossible physic, and the man is 51/52 when he made "yours mine and ours".

I think he stopped taking stuff since he retired. He wasn't big at all in comparison to when he competed. Muscle memory is also a great thing. In his movies he pretty much got his arms and chest big again. All the rest was way smaller than he was when he was competing.

it seems that some people here believe that there is only two choices:   drug free, or massive amounts of steroids and gh.   

100 mg/week of test is still "on steroids".   for someone in their 40s or 50s, 100 mg/week will make a difference.
