Why is population a factor in your assessment. Has nothing to do with the size of the teams nor the competitors at the Olympics. Each nation represents itself with competitors, not it's population.
It's not. Youre comparing apples to apples. You're comparing the best to the best. There are many countries that are much smaller than us that beat us in certain events. USA did horrible in archery.
You either have the best athlete for that chosen sport or you don't.
The funny thing is that China has 1.357 billion people and USA has 318 million people. Yet, USA still has more medals than China. How does that work if it was all about population?
