you see something like this and all that support you felt for cops goes out the window.
I dont think its a case of too many bad apples. Its just that the training produces bad cops and its actually amazing we dont get more deadly encounters with these cops, who are not trained to protect the citizenry first.
One simple rule change would fix this. If a cop shoots without being first shot at, He's done. No excuses. And yes this includes situations where the perp has or appears to have a gun. The cop should be actively trying to de-escalate the situation while keeping out of harms way and calling for backup. You just cant go around killing people cus you're scared for your life.

And whats with always aiming for center-mass like an amateur, thats shooting to kill everytime. Cops should be expert marksmen if they are gonna be armed with guns and should be able to hit shoulder or leg from a good distance away. The truth is, most cops are no better than the average gun range jockey with their service weapons and its a fucking shame.
