Trump, shifting back, now says no legal status for all 11 million illegal immigrants

Source: Washington Post

Donald Trump on Thursday appeared to shift back to some version of the hard-line immigration posture he adopted in the GOP primaries, telling CNN that he does not support a path to legal status for illegal immigrants unless they leave the country and return legally.

The comment added a new layer of confusion to the GOP presidential nominee's position on one of his signature issues. This week, Trump and his aides have softened their rhetoric on immigration, signaling an openness to legalizing many of the nation's 11 million illegal immigrants despite Trump's long-standing vow to deport them all.

In a CNN interview that aired Thursday evening, Anderson Cooper asked Trump: "So if they haven’t committed a crime, is there going to be a path to legalization? I’m not talking about citizenship."

Trump responded: "First thing we’re going to do. No is not a path — there is no path to legalization unless people leave the country. When they come back in, if they come back in, then they can start paying taxes, but there is no path to legalization unless they leave the country and come back." In seeming to shift back toward his original position, Trump acknowledged that he would not be able to easily and efficiently deport all 11 million people at once. Trump said that "bad dudes" would be deported as soon as he took office, a group he described as containing "probably millions." He did not say what would happen to the remaining immigrants, but he did say "there is a very good chance" they would eventually be deported.

Still waiting on that quote you promised where Trump says he'll only deport felons you lying sack of Hillary love.  He never said it.  You made it up.  You are a liar.

Hillary's position however is she'd only deport violent felons and terrorist.  And she wants to expand DACA and DAPA to extended family, which means 20 MILLION MORE.  This she said in the dem debate.  You don't watch or read primary source material, what someone actually says.  You get it filtered.

He'll only deport 'the bad ones'.   Although today he reverted and said it might be all of them again.   Flipflopping more.

Trump Goes Back To Original Immigration Position With Second 180 Flip

Source: Huffington Post

DES MOINES, Iowa – Donald Trump’s experiment with “softening” his immigration policy came to a dramatic end Saturday in a fairgrounds livestock pavilion, with the Republican presidential nominee promising deportations within an hour of his inauguration.

“We are going to rid of the criminals, and it’s going to happen within one hour after I take office,” he said. “We will move justly, but we will move fast. Believe me.”

Trump has made the forcible deportation of the 11 million people in the country without documentation a cornerstone of his presidential campaign from its start last year. It made him a favorite among a segment of the Republican base, and helped him win the nomination over a dozen Republican senators and governors.

He also asserted – without any supporting evidence – that Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton would, if she were to win, end “all routine immigration enforcement.” “In other words, totally open borders. Which will lead to a massive crime wave,” Trump said.

Trump vows deportations instantly if elected

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump linked illegal immigration and employment Saturday, pledging to start deporting offenders as soon as he is sworn in should he become the White House’s next occupant.

Trump all the while courted the black vote, claiming that the shooting of basketball star Dwyane Wade’s cousin will make African Americans support him, but the move instead triggered a firestorm of criticism.

“On Day One, I am going to begin swiftly removing criminal illegal immigrants from this country? including removing the hundreds of thousands of criminal illegal immigrants that have been released into US communities under the Obama-Clinton administration,” Trump told supporters in Des Moines, Iowa.

Trump’s Democratic rival Hillary Clinton served as secretary of state during President Barack Obama’s first term in office. The next president will be sworn in on January 20.

“I am going to build a great border wall, institute nationwide e-verify, stop illegal immigrants from accessing welfare and entitlements and develop an exit-entry tracking system to ensure those who overstay their visas are quickly removed,” Trump warned.

The billionaire real estate magnate and former reality TV host -- in a white baseball cap -- said that “If we don’t enforce visa expiration dates, then we have an open border. It’s as simple as that.”

“A vote for Trump is a vote to have a nation of laws, a vote for Clinton is a vote for open borders,” he stressed.

Details of Trump’s immigration policies remain scant. He rallied much of his primary support with a controversial hardline tone against illegal immigrants and his plan to build a wall on the Mexican border.

Some of his advisors are now reportedly urging him to tone down his signature policy priority.

Dear TwoFatty, you are clearly fat because you actually care if someone calls you fat.  People who aren't fat just laugh.

Also, you can't flip flop from a made up position.  You lied about him saying he'd only deport felons.  You can produce no such quote.  Now you claim he is flip flopping from the position you made up with a lie.  Sad!

Typical Cruzbot nevertrumper Hillary supporting behavior.

Trump considers last-minute meeting in Mexico with the country’s president

Donald Trump is considering jetting to Mexico City on Wednesday for a meeting with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, just hours before he delivers a high-stakes speech in Arizona to clarify his views on immigration policy, according to people in the United States and Mexico familiar with the discussions.

The possibility, which was hatched in recent days by Trump and his campaign advisers, comes after Trump has wavered for weeks over whether he would continue to hold his hard-line positions on the central and incendiary issue of his campaign, in particular his call to deport an estimated 11 million immigrants who are living in the United States illegally.

The people informed of Trump’s plans requested anonymity due to the sensitivity surrounding its planning. They said late Tuesday that talks between the Trump campaign and Mexican officials were ongoing, with Trump interested in going but logistics and security concerns still being sorted out.

Peña Nieto has extended an invitation for the businessman to come visit with him in Mexico to talk about various political and economic issues, the people said. Trump, sensing an opportunity, decided over the weekend to accept the invitation and push for a visit this week.

Because then that may lead to family homelessness, which comes with a whole new set of problems, which will include more money being spent (maybe even more than welfare and benefits). Unless they decide that since they are not getting benefits, they will return to their country of origin. Maybe or master not.
