because they are hiring people and setting up offices and building an infrastructure for 'get out the vote' effort for Nov 8th.

The candidate traditionally works to help others in the party get elected, and fundraises for them - and they do the same, using their network of people and offices to help him.   Trump isn't working with the RNC, and has said some mean things about them in the past.

It's just not what a person does if they want to win.  It's odd.

How'd there fundraising help them? It helped them get republicans down the ticket re-elected...  What has a Republican Senate/House done? Nothing. The establishment IS the problem. I couldn't care less if the Republican party crashes and burns. Something new will take its place, with the GOP name or not.

that was the primary.   there was no stopping trump.  the low-education nascar fans anointed trump the winner early on. 

There aren't any swing voters in the primaries.  the extreme decides.

Trump has to win the middle 6% that decide every election.  TV time during "Big Brother" or "Dancing with the stars" showing Trump dropping F bombs and imitating the handicapped are very effective. 

In the polls trump's doing well, he's still at 41 or 42%.  Hilary's bouncing between 48 and 38 in polls.  Trump's pretty solid.  I don't see anything he can do, any moves, to magically win 49 or 50% of the population.  The 7% of the nation that thinks he's an idiot aren't going to change.   They would rather have the nation in the hands of a highly capable criminal (hilary) than a wide-eyed obnoxious dude who might make us great, or might start WW3.

But last night's speech will motivate minorities and get Stein and Johnson supporters to realize how dangerous not voting for Clinton could be.  And then come the debates. Does anyone think Trump can win over voters in a debate standing next to Clinton?  He seems to only have two modes: wimpy reserved Trump as he was yesterday standing next to the president of Mexico, or out of control demagogue as he was last night in Phoenix.  Neither version will do well with the swing voters who will decide the general election.
