Kevin gets big props for actually following through with his comeback. You can tell that he busted his ass, and it gave a much needed jolt to the community these last few months.

It started as a competition amongst fellow bodybuilders, but it has ended with Levrone accomplishing something entirely different.

Kevin was competing within himself this entire time, and he won.

Agreed. Nothing but respect for the man for what he achieved and obviously the man is a living legend. He was THE BEST from 1991-2003 and no one can ever take that away from him.

Good effort from Levrone and all things considered, not a bad showing. Let's be honest, he was never going to make any major impact at this point.

how come kevin gets all this love for taking a dump truck of _____ and placing last....  But ronnie (who looks pretty damn close to natty) is getting all the hate in the world for trying to just lift again.

Hats off and respect to Kev

Made the build up exciting for the first time in years and as usual the show is fucking boring! No interest for me in the open show now and another nail in the coffin for pro bodybuilding competition!

great post totally agree he won the mental battle against HIMSELF, like most on here thought a top 10 would of been a fantastic result, as soon as he walked out knew he'd place @ the back of the pack doesn't matter in his prime he had a increadble physique one of the best of his generation props too him
He brought a lot of interest back into the snooze fest bodybuilding has become.

He will NOT regain his legs. His legs were already much smaller in his last 3 Mr. O's. Didn't you hear what Dennis James said? The legs are the first thing to go. Kevin's legs are nowhere. They are finished. He no longer has a pro physique and no amount of time in the gym will bring that back. It's sad, but true.

If you're competing with yourself only there's no need to get on stage. What happened here is that Kevin embarrassed himself and now everyone is just feeling sorry for him.

And what Palumbo did was shitty. He built up hype which he knew was complete bullshit, just to drive traffic to his site.

Now they are probably going to make an exeption and let Kevin pose despite not being top 10, just because everyone is feeling sorry for him.

Dude get over it its just a bodybuilding show. Half the time they are fixed. This at least injected some life into what has become a boring shit fest.

I am not Kevin Levrone, therefore I do not know the man's true intentions. Nobody should feel sorry for Kevin. Mr. Levrone took all of us on a journey. I really can appreciate what Kevin went through.

There is no need to bring Dave Palumbo into this.

I think he held his own in side poses and aside from the legs he looked good considering his age and circumstances. I'd definitely prefer this physique (aside from the sock, no homo) than any of the other bloated hippos.

X2 Kevin is one of the most likeable guys in the history of bodybuilding. Trains hard, strong as hell and most importantly demonstrated marvelous hairstyles over the years lol

These guys have huge egos and it may be silly but I know Kevin isn't happy with the outcome. Look at Coach, he did a "stupid show" in 2006 and for the rest of his life he will think about if he could have done better. Yes bodybuilding is serious business lol... look at Ronnie, he just can't let go and constantly thinks how he could gain back some of what he lost due to age and injuries.

Its sad. Would be good to see him keep training and try to regain the lost size. A year of training is just not enough

But I think he might retire for real after placing last.

He must have been 220lbs on stage

People keep saying this but Kevin doesn't do this, he never did. He's done what's he done the past 10 Olympias, take time off, prep for a few months and place top 3 ::)

What we are seeing here is age catching up to him, like everyone else. It will for Dexter pretty soon, he's still 5 to 6 years younger and that's a lot in bbing years

ya I know.  Tony Freeman is almost Kevin's age. I believe Tony is 50 or 51...

Yeah and he's already or been fading big time, he's not winning any shows any time soon....

Looks like guys like tom prince was smart, got out and never looked back, same with craiggers, took the easy way out and burned a body in the back of his jaguar

Well, he IS an old man, he is closing in on 60!

Good show for a legend of such an advanced age!
THIS. Of course he could not beat Phil or be top 5. Anybody who believed that is delusional.
But KL giving it his all and stepping on stage among the current top, creating all this hype and the people loving this hype, rooting for KL and once again looking forward to the mister O is what makes this so great. That is what it is all about. And I bet KL thinks the same way. So I do not understand the disappointment folks.

creating all this hype

And it worked. Everyone talks about Levrone. He was in every ad. The biggest thread on front page here is about Levrone. He is the locoman of this year's O hype train.
Whether it was voice of his heart or he was offered money to jump in to generate some buzz, it worked, he brought some fun and expectations to the competition that lost all its glory a long time ago.

Yes, he doesn't deserve a place and he would never qualify for Oilympia with that body, but I don't see shame in that. He still looks good for an old man and it's simply nice to see a legend amongst men.

I suspect the majority watching are because of Levrone , without his involvement the numbers would have been in the shitter. Phil keeps winning and the fan base keeps getting smaller.
