MAXKANE, It appears that y9u know your movie history pretty damn well.
And I totally agree with ya that Sergio Lione is the reason behind Clint's success.
BUT ... Can you tell your fellow GetBiggers the name of CLINT's character in THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY.
And who was 'the good'?
Who was 'the bad'?
And who was 'the ugly'?
In the English version
Clint name was "blondie"
The good was Clint Eastwood
The bad was Ely Wallach
The ugly was Lee Van Cliff
In the Italian original version " Il buono,il brutto e il cattivo"
Clint name was "biondo"
The good (il buono) was Clint Eastwood
The ugly (il brutto) was Eli Wallach
The bad (il cattivo) was Lee Van Cliff
The reasoning for this is because brutto ( ugly in Italian ) is almost always used to describe physical apparence, and Eli Wallach was less attractive than Lee Van Cliff.
