New Cars For 2017
« on: October 13, 2016, 01:43:11 PM »
Most of the new cars this year carry a very evolutionary design theme even thought they are clean sheet designs.

This is a 100 percent clean sheet design, nothing carries over from the old model, yet it looks almost identical and most people won't be able to tell the difference.

Great cars and very safe; one of the best choices for a family vehicle. Since you work for Volvo, how is reliability and maintenance cost?

well the tide has changed they are still safe tenfold but they are in the market to sell more by better design and interiors and state of  the art electronics now,,,maintaining an older vehicle can get pricey but most maintences cost avg 500/1000 depending on whats needed oil/filters/brakes...suspension and other older wear parts on older vehicles are costly and any modules needed avg 1000/1500

You're half right.  Here it is being assembled in the new Mexican plant.
This is state of the art manufacturing automation.

Car design peaked in the 90s aesthetically speaking. 90% of the gizmos they build in to jack up the price you don't even need. I'll take my s14 over any of the new cars in terms of looks.

I do however, love what Ford has been doing with their hot hatches. I'm hoping they do a fiesta RS that would be one bad little car  8)

I like the current 5 series look better

All the German cars are going back to the same look inside and out, very boring

Could not agree with you more. Also they are turning SUV's into station wagons.

Ridiculous.

The CRV's the fifth best selling vehicle in America.  Ahead of the Camry, RAV4, Civic, and Accord.  Only the F-Series, Ram, Silverado, and Corolla out sell it.  I think they know what they're doing.   ;)

Sept 2016 Sales
#1   Ford F-Series   67,809
#2   Ram P/U   47,792
#3   Chevrolet Silverado   45,380
#4   Toyota Corolla   32,272
#5   Honda CR-V   31,884
#6   Toyota Camry   30,707
#7   Toyota RAV4   29,438
#8   Honda Civic   28,184
#9   Honda Accord   27,204
#10   Nissan Rogue   26,459

I'm sure they would love to hear your advice on how to design a steering wheel like the 1960's Plymouth Grand Fury.  Unfortunately the Plymouth brand is out of business.

Yeah, giving cheap loan rates to people who don`t really care about the car other than to use as basic transportation.

Tired of Japanese cars.

What is ironic is that some of "dem Japanese cars" are more American (in design, manufacturing and parts) than some "American" vehicles.
