tbf trump only won due to your flawed electoral system, clinton actually got the larger number of votes

Incorrect - you have no idea what would have happened if popular vote was the criteria for electing the President.   Campaigns, ad spends, media strategies, voter turnout, etc would have been entirely different if it was.

I happen to disagree with him on that issue but I believe it's a negotiating tactic that will never be implemented. Time will tell.

If I'm not mistaken, you're Canadian. I like Canadians. They're good people but they're naive and don't realize how much they've been indoctrinated into a Socialist mindset.

The American people have spoken. We don't want that shit, here, and we don't give a flying fuck what anybody else thinks, feel or has to say about it.

Dude I'm from New Jersey.  I also agree with Trump on some stuff, on other stuff not.

I reside in Australia.  I shamelessly FUCK YEAH'd as the map went red.  Tbh I'm excited and nervous.  He might deliver.  He might be a disaster.

Before the vote I didn't give a shit.  I was resigned to more of the same.  Suddenly I'm enthused!

My bad.

That said, Jersey is a good example of excessive regulation gumming up the works. They should have had a casino in the Meadowlands 10 years ago but they're still arguing about it.

Ok, I feel better, since I'm never wrong on anything.

I agree about excitement with this.   The Republicans now have a free shot to rebuild/rebrand a bit on the fly.  If they can actually accomplish things in the first two years, it could spell a new direction for them.  If they fuck it up and cater to the extremes, they'll get wiped in the mid terms.

Trump won.  Not only that, but he won by record numbers.  And not only that, but he accomplished this in a very efficient manner and with a fraction of the money Hillary and previous candidates have spent on campaigns.

All this with zero political experience, but with much business, negotiating and WINNING experience.

If this isn't a reflection of how Trump will run the country, and of how Hillary would have run the country, I don't know what is.

Market continues to hold support while waiting on election results. I anticipate a large selloff if Trump were to be victorious.

-NT

The stock market rally continued for a second day after Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton, a reaction few expected.

"The Dow rose 218 points Thursday and closed at a record high for the second day in a row."

Right on.  As has been said, this dismantled everything.  The Reps and Dems both shit the bed completely.

I'd like to see focus on consequential issues.  War.  World balance of power.  A fucked economy.  Immigration.  If they bog down on the same old christian-right red herring social crap like abortion (wtf do I care, I don't have a uterus), gays in the marriage hall/ military/ the chick-fil-a, etc, I'll be disappoint.

For others, his stance on abortion and appeal to the Christian core might be what's most important.  He's got a tough row to hoe.

The people peddling this crap know this. That's why honest debate with Leftists is pointless. They're pathological liars.

not incorrect at all, as i never attempted to predict what the result would have been if a different voting system was employed.

but a system in which in a 2 horse race, the horse that gets the most votes loses heavily would seem a bit flawed.

this is a knee jerk reaction based entirely on the face that people are anticipating trump to be the 2nd coming of bush II with his tax cuts for the wealthy and big business, increased military spending and financial deregulation. Wase in point trump just shat all over lloyd blankfein and goldman sachs jumped 6%

Trump makes americas bond yields great again

A serial overleveraged construction contractor who blew himself up 6 times, the last one so big the banks kept him in the deal after overbuilding casinos in Atlantic City, is now looking for a $500bn infrastructure plan at a point in time that 'merica is almost at full employment... That says inflation, and rising bond yields, which soon enough will mean either falling or crashing equities.

So you must be really be upset about the fact that Hillary spent $9 per vote; whereas Trump only $5.

How many of those votes did Hillary buy? To make it fair, shouldn't have Hillary limited her spending to match that of her underfunded opponent?

President Trump took the Republican Party back to the days of Theodore Roosevelt, and his trust busting of corporations controlling everything, except today, the "trusts" are the political parties that control everything, and Trump succeeded in destroying the RINO, Neocon control of the Republican Party, and defeated the Democrat Party. He shouldn't allow any Neocons, RINOs, into his administration, and certainly not "reach" across the aisle, and let any Democrats into his administration either.

We need to cut taxes, cut government regulations, get rid of ObamaCare, build that wall (with armed guards who have orders to shoot to kill, take no prisoners), give Americans back their right to choose who they want to deal with in any part of their lives, and not have the government forcing them to deal with people they would rather see dead, nuke mecca, and really, put Hillary (and Bill) in jail already!

The "shiesty" scam artists are the democrats and RINOs, stealing from the useful productive citizens of America, and giving that money to the shit people, who should've been killed off for the sake of the improvement of Humanity.

But, but, but Neurotoxin and the main stream media predicted the stock market would tank the minute Trump was elected.

Exactly! Giving shit people the right to buy houses, that they couldn't afford to pay for, was something Bill Clinton did, to help destroy the housing market, for real human beings.

That's a fascinating illustration of the population distribution in question, thanks for posting.

For the benefit of overseas posters, something I don't think I've seen queried elsewhere yet is:

Presumably the President-elect will be required to stand down from his various other boards and businesses, right?  How does this work in practice?  Does he take a sabbatical and hand things to others until he's finished?  Surely they won't be wound up or closed or sold off or something?

(I've had a quick Google but thought I'd get the definitive answer from the Getbig analysts team  8))
