Stop whining.  He isn’t going to jail or house arrest.   Probably a fine and/or lenient six months “probation.”

He’s still going to be around to tell silly lies and whine nonstop.

CNN’s Jennings: Trump Guilty Verdict ‘Going to Massively Backfire on the Democrats’
Breitbart ^ | 30 May 2024 | JEFF POOR
Posted on 5/31/2024, 1:25:05

Thursday on CNN, following the announcement of a guilty verdict of former President Donald Trump on 34 counts by a Manhattan jury, CNN senior political contributor Scott Jennings predicted it would favor Republicans in the election cycle.

According to the former Bush administration official, the verdict would “massively backfire” on Democrats by galvanizing Republican support and encouraging fundraising.

“Well, if my phone and the text messages I’m receiving are any indication, every Republican in the country is matter in a wet hen,” he said. “I mean, people who are decidedly non-MAGA, not Trump fans are blowing up tonight saying this case never should have been brought, this is ridiculous charges. It was an egregious use of the criminal justice system. And I mean, I’m hearing people say I had no intention of voting for Donald Trump, and now I am. And then if you ask to Trump campaign, what’s happening?”

“You know, they literally broke their online donation portal because people were rushing to the internet to save their money in the minutes after the verdict,” Jennings added. “So I think there’s a real chance here. it’s going to massively backfire on the Democrats and helped Donald Trump.”

Hoping the do-nothing Republicans don't wuss out as usual and start the subpoenas.

Of the four cases, this one was probably the most ridiculous.

In order I'd go documents/jan 6/real estate / stormy in order of increasingly stupid.

Real estate and Stormy are a blight due to corrupt DAs and judges.

Jan 6th will never happen.

As for the documents, if you find Trump guilty, it sets the stage to try Biden.  Biden did not obstruct, but did possess, and may have had less authority to have them than Trump.

I still think Biden dropped the ball politically by not doing an instant pardon.  This verdict will not sway anyone to Biden who wasn't already there.  Biden showing that we can't afford half the country losing faith in our justice system would.

Really? After 2 impeachments, Russia collusion, FBI raid, etc., etc., etc., this stuff no longer surprises me at all.  Banana republic type stuff.

Yeah a conviction was a foregone conclusion, regardless of what the law or evidence was.

Title should be changed to: Trump = Losing

Because that's what's happening. Trump was up against the Deep State Swamp. He even said so at his inauguration. But he failed to understand that rules don't apply to them. You have to fight evil with evil.

If the was case weak, wouldn’t it be easy to defend?  I’d like to see some of that stuff lawyer, twitter if you have any of it handy.  If not I can search around and I am sure there will be some stuff put out in the coming days.

When the judge and prosecutors have their thumbs on the scale?  Absolutely not.

Sometimes judges get it wrong.  Check out these two cases.

Do you remember Arthur Anderson? They were accused of a non-crime (just like Trump).  Indicted, tried, convicted.  Lost initial appeal, then unanimously reversed by the U.S. Supreme Court.  The prosecutor was Andrew Weissmann, the hack who helped lead the Russian Manchurian Investigation and current MSNBC commentator.  Unfortunately, Arthur Anderson could not recover.  They were toast the moment they got indicted.

Or this one more recently, where an old lady had her $40k house seized by the government over at $15k tax debt.  Lost at trial and lost the initial appeal.  Unanimously overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Most people don't have the means to take matters that far, so there are assuredly a lot of cases like this out there where people get screwed.

Losing? It's lost already. The justice system is corrupt and there is no justice. Biden claiming nobody is above the law is a joke. But all this means is people will take justice into their own hands. If there is no justice the system lacks authority. Who's in charge? Nobody? Ok, got it!

He had 4 years to deal with the deep state/swamp.

Biden is the first one to be above the law, the Department of "justice" will not charge a sitting President. Judges have absolute immunity. Prosecutors have prosecutorial immunity. Cops have qualified immunity. Several people are above the law and most often the ones who pontificate about no one being above the law conveniently exclude themselves.

How does the judge in this case influence a jury trial?  They found him guilty on 34 charges in 9 1/2 hours.  Trump either broke the law or he didn’t.  Was what Trump did not a crime?

The judge can hate Trump.  What difference exactly would he have had or had in this trial if the law is clear and the case is tried and determined by 12 jurors?  12 who all agreed he was guilty. Not 1 disagreed.

Not to mention Trump's lawyers had a hand in picking the jury.

It just seems like no matter what happens to the guy, some here always just seem to assume he is innocent and justify that position with any rational they can.   I get it Biden is bad too.  But Trump has broken the law and got convicted 2 times now.

Hahahaha look at the stupid excuses the Trumpturds are using for crutches.

The judge hated him.
Biden is out to get him.
Rigged trial.
Thumbs on the scale.

Oh just shut the fuck up with the bullshit.  This is Gods Will. Who are you incels to argue with God?   Thou shall not commit adultery.  Ever hear of that one?  If he had honored his wedding vows this would not have happened at all. And then using the very book and word that the commandment is listed in, he tried to sell it for money - which by the way is the root of all evil.  God obviously decided a lesson was in order. So that just leaves his nonstop lies and your nonstop bleating and repeating of those lies.

He couldn’t even convince a single juror to find reasonable doubt for a single felony out of 34.   :D

Realistically speaking, Trump has been getting away with lying, cheating, stealing, fraud, etc for the longest. I'm glad something is finally catching up to him. The man has been a disaster to our politics & has pushed us way far to extremism/polarization. He just needs to go.

Its just surprising that a rich guy who cares only for himself & has fucked people over his entire life has so many people throwing themselves at him in his defense. All principles are suddenly out the window for a man that hasn't done crap for anyone but himself. Trump couldn't & doesnt GAF about you guys.

You just described the Democrats perfectly.

The party that used to be for free speech, anti big corporation and anti government control threw it all out the window because they hate Trump.

Quote
Even liberal legal analysts have admitted that the case against Trump was unprecedented and would not have been brought against anyone other than Trump.

CNN legal analyst Elie Honig recently wrote that there should be concern over a judge being appointed (not randomly selected) who is not just a Biden donor but someone who “has earmarked donations for ‘resisting the Republican Party and Donald Trump’s radical right-wing legacy.’ ”

Adding to these concerns is the movement of the third-highest official in the Biden Justice Department to the staff of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg to build the case against Trump.

Before joining the case, Matthew Colangelo was also paid by the Democratic National Committee for “political consulting.”

So Trump was convicted in a trial with a Biden donor judge, who has a daughter who is a major Democratic operative, a lead prosecutor previously paid as a DNC political consultant and a jury selected in a district that voted roughly 90% against Trump.

The trial itself was a travesty.

Even after sitting in the courtroom watching the trial and the verdict, I still have no idea what Trump was convicted of in the case.

The charges were built on a dead misdemeanor barred with the passage of the statute of limitations.

It was zapped back into life by alleging that the falsification of business records occurred to unlawfully influence the 2016 presidential election.

Merchan told the jury members that they did not have to agree on what those unlawful means may have been.

Specifically, he allowed them to base their verdict on any one of three vaguely defined crimes of a federal election violation, falsification of business records or taxation violations.

Thus, the jury could have divided 4-4-4 on what actually occurred but the verdict was still treated as unanimous by Merchan to convict Trump.

C'mon man - this doesn't smell bad to you?
