You would think so based on the questions, but you never know till the decision comes out.  I think this may up in the U.S. Supreme Court anyway.

Well, it sounded like at the end of it, the prosecutions lawyers were essentially trying to convince the court they shouldn't be sanctioned if it's determined that the case should have never been brought to court.

That's not good for them.

The six-foot social distancing may or may not only have been based on science, but the six-foot rule was also based on common sense. When someone has an air-born virus the closer they are to other people, the more likely they are to spread it to them.

Get Real & get off the fence - They've admitted The 6ft Bollocks was pulled out of their
Arse / as was the use of face Nappies & the 10 O'clock nonsense .
Hell what about keeping family in bedrooms 😂🤣😂 FFS its an airborne virus just like
Flu. Do you do all these Stupid things in Flu season.

They had you're pants down - You were fooled & acted like one - Man up & just
Fucking admit it for Christs sake.

Pussy footing around & trying to act clever & justify it.
Enough of that stupidity.

Trump's policies took effect pretty much immediately after they implemented.  A POTUS enacts policies through signing legislation and executive orders.  So like I said, nothing Obama signed or ordered contributed to Trump's booming economy.  You cannot mention "Obama's policies" in a vacuum.  You have to point to some specific legislation or executive action that he was responsible for that directly contributed to the economy.

Every abled bodied adult is owning, renting, or living with someone, so yes the housing market affects everyone.  Not every owner or renter is trying to move, but the housing market dictates their options, what they will pay, taxes, etc.

We don't agree on why prices are inflated.  It's pretty clear to me that the cause is inflation, not some backroom conspiracy by "corporations" to artificially increase prices.

Who has proposed a 20 percent tariff on everything across the board?  And how is the Kamala Harris remedy to inflation (federal price controls) going to work?

I agree that owners looking to sell, or move are affected by the housing market. Renters are affected by the housing market for a couple of reasons. A shortage of rental units often causes rent increases. Income property purchase and construction costs affect rental rates. Mortgage interest rates affect anyone looking to finance or refinance a property. Sellers will get a higher price for their property and also pay a higher price if they buy another property.

Property tax assessments and rate increases vary by state. In Oregon the limit is based on a property's maximum assessed value (MAV) or its real market value RMV, whichever is the lesser. And it cannot increase by more than 3 percent each year unless there are significant changes to the property. How property taxes on new construction are determined is a little more complicated.

Fauci: ‘It Sort of Just Appeared, That Six Feet Is Going to Be the Distance’

Q: Do you recall when discussions regarding, kind of, the at-least-a-6-foot threshold began?

A: The six-foot in the school?

Q: Six-foot overall. I mean, 6-foot was applied at businesses —

A: Yeah.

Q: It was applied in schools, it was applied here. At least how the messaging was applied was that 6-foot distancing was the distance that needed to be —

A: You know, I don’t recall. It sort of just appeared. I don’t recall, like, a discussion of whether it should be five or six or whatever. It was just that six-foot is –

A: I was not aware of studies that — in fact, that would be a very difficult study to do.

Of course it wasn't based on science.

And pfizer admitted they didn't test to see if it stops / limits transferring the virus.

So, makes you wonder what the gov't used to push mandates....

The fact/science is that some distance, regardless of the exact number of feet, is better than no distance is in spreading an airborne virus from one person to another. Also, hand washing is better than not for all viruses.

For me trying to avoid handshaking was awkward because it was and is such common practice. I noticed that many folks have resumed doing this again, which is fine with me.

You are missing the point.  I assumed, probably like most people, that six feet was based on some scientific study, etc.  It wasn't, as Fauci admitted.  In fact, true social distancing is more like 30 feet, but they knew they could never sell that to the public.  They picked six feet because it was an easier sell.  So no, this isn't a gray area.  Same with masks.

A lot of people still use fist bumps.  I don't really care.  The more important thing is to wash your hands and not put your hands in your mouth or rub your eyes.

1- that is what we are agreeing on.  Just not on the exact cause of it.
2- Trump stated he would impose a 20% tariff across the board on everything coming into the US.

Really? Thirty feet? I have never heard or read this. Where did you get this information? Is 30 ft. a science-based recommendation for social distancing?

I heard a discussion about it.  Cannot remember if it was Fauci, but I think it was him.  And yes the conclusion was that effective social distancing is about 30 feet.

Check out this NPR article on social distancing, including how 6' became the recommendation. https://www.npr.org/sections/goats-and-soda/2024/06/21/g-s1-5705/coronavirus-faw-if-youre-still-trying-to-stay-covid-safe-does-the-6-food-rule-matter. My conclusion from reading this is that nobody can say for sure what a safe distance is because there are many variables to consider. One thing seems clear though, some social distancing is better than none. Still, how does one have a person-to-person conversation when they are standing 6 or more feet away from each other… especially those folks like me who are hearing impaired.

The pharmacy I use still has a plexiglass barrier between the pharmacist/clerk and the customer. In addition to this the ventilation system blowing out air is directly overhead. Unless they scream at me, there was no way I could understand everything they said. Also, pharmacy folks tend to talk softly to help with customer privacy.   This is really frustrating for me!

Yes, the plexiglass shield are an annoyance in that respect.  I've even stepped to the side of it because they couldn't hear me, and I'm not going to yell.

I've seen the article.  Thanks.  My conclusion after reading it, listening to Fauci, and reading many other sources is the six foot social distancing rule was not implemented based on any scientific study that six feet prevents the spread of Covid.  That's actually a fact that Fauci admitted in the quote I provided earlier.  So going back to your point about gray areas, this isn't one of them.  And there are many other black and white issues involving Covid.

Donalds, Hunt join Black Men for Trump in condemning Obama’s comments to Black men

Republican Reps. Byron Donalds (Florida) and Wesley Hunt (Texas) have joined the group Black Men for Trump in condemning former President Obama’s comments toward Black male voters.

A letter signed by the advisory board of Black Men for Trump and its members accuses Obama of being “insulting” and “demeaning” with the comments he made Thursday night.

“President Obama’s recent call for Black men to support Kamala Harris based solely on her skin color, rather than her policies, is deeply insulting,” the letter states.

“Black Americans are not a monolith, and we don’t owe our votes to any candidate just because they ‘look like us.’ It’s demeaning to suggest that we can’t evaluate a candidate’s track record—especially when Kamala Harris has done more harm than good to Black communities.”

NEW: Donald Trump obliterates "Loser" Kamala Harris after she claimed he was "exhausted."

Trump then told the reporter his entire schedule before telling them he is exhilarated.

"She's a loser. She didn't even show up for the Catholics last night."

"All they are is sound bites. So today I was at Fox and Friends at seven in the morning. I then went to two other appearances."

"I then made about 15 phone calls. I've gone 48 days now without a rest, and I've got that loser who doesn't have the energy of a rabbit."

"Lemme tell you something. She should have been there last night with the Catholics. All they do is put out sound bites."

"I'm not even tired. I'm really exhilarated. The American people don't want her. She didn't pass her bar exam. She's not a smart person."

Supposedly at the end of his day, Trump flies back to NYC to sleep in his own bed. For us taxpayers, the good news is he must reimburse the government for his campaign travel expenses which he does out of campaign funds.

It is no wonder he is selling cheesy gold watches to help finance his campaign. The $100,000 Victory Tourbillon watch has a movement alleged to be partially built from Chinese components. There is also the much less expensive 'Fight, fight, fight' watch uses a movement by Japanese company Seiko. The companies that made the gold sneakers and the new Trump Watches were established by the same register agent, Andrew Pierce of Cloud Peak Law, Wyoming. Which watch did you buy?
