Mail in voting isn't going anywhere. Otherwise Election Day would turn into Election Week to accommodate all the numbers of people who show up.

Oregon was the first state to implement mail in ballots/voting; In 1981 the Oregon Legislature approved a test of vote-by-mail for local elections. December 1995, Oregon becomes the 1st state to conduct a primary election totally by mail to nominate candidates for federal offices.
In January 1996 Oregon becomes 1st state to conduct the general election totally by mail for federal offices.
In 2024 Eight states, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Vermont, and Washington have all-mail elections.
