STAR MAN SENTENCED TO A 40-YEAR PRISON TERM FOR POSSESSION OF CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE MATERIAL

Judge calls defendant a “heavy” risk to society

BOISE, ID, Nov. 12, 2025 — Ryan Stephen Patania, 35, was sentenced today by the Honorable Ada County District Judge Jason Scott to a unified 40-year prison sentence, with 30 years fixed and 10 years indeterminate, after pleading guilty to four counts of Possession of Sexually Exploitative Material. Additionally, the judge ordered Patania to have no contact with the victims for 40-years and to register as a sex offender.

The case began in December 2024 when detectives investigated Patania for making sexual comments and touching a child in a sexual manner. Patania was arrested, and a search warrant granted the Ada County Sheriff’s Office permission to search his phone.

Deputies discovered numerous images of child pornography, primarily depicting young boys between the ages of five and 10. Deputies also found numerous chats and text messages where the defendant would discuss his interest in child pornography, often joking about it.

“Crimes involving sexual abuse of children are incredibly serious,” said Judge Scott. “The effects are long-lasting.” He noted the significant danger Patania poses to the community.

The Ada County Prosecutor’s Office requested a 40-year fixed prison sentence.

Three men have been arrested in Tangipahoa Parish after an investigation into child sex abuse materials online.

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force began tracking a suspect uploading child sex abuse materials.

The files were then shared and traded with other users over multiple platforms.

According to the task force, Jimmy Dale Pierce, 47, of Kentwood, initially uploaded the material and a search of his electronic device confirmed he was in possession of the child sexual abuse material.

Pierce was arrested on May 19 and is being charged with 24 counts of pornography involving juveniles under 13.

At the same time, the task force received another tip in a separate case regarding child sexual abuse materials online.

Through investigation, they were able to identify David Bonfiglio, 27, of Tickfaw as the suspect. He is being charged with 3 counts of pornography involving juveniles under 13.

They received another tip, which led to the arrest of Logan Andrews, 20, of v. He was charged with 2 counts of pornography involving juveniles.

Eliyahu “Eli” Weinstein, a 51-year-old man who has also used the alias Mike Konig, was handed down a 37-year sentence in Trenton, NJ on Friday.

Prosecutors estimated he milked approximately $35 million from the woefully misguided investors, who Weinstein promised access to deals involving dwindling medical supplies, baby formula and first-aid kits intended to be sent to Ukraine, according to his most recent indictment.

US District Judge Michael Shipp, who was overseeing the case, also ruled that Weinstein must pay $44,294,803 in restitution, effective immediately, according to court documents.

In March, Weinstein was convicted on charges that he helped defraud dozens of investors.

The con artist’s prior two convictions, for which he was originally set to serve 24 years in prison, were commuted by Trump on Jan. 19, 2021 — his last day before leaving office during his first term.

Trump ordered that Weinstein be released on the measly eight years he’d served plus three years of supervised release, according to his indictment.

Prosecutors said that Weinstein leapt back into his old schemes soon after his release.

Weinstein wasn’t shy about his nefarious habits and plainly told his conspirators that he “finagled, and Ponzied, and lied to people to cover us,” according to court documents.

In another message, Weinstein told a conspirator, “I slept for 12 hours straight the first night . . . And then proceeded to lie to all my investors, which was real fun,” according to court documents.

Weinstein’s first two convictions involved a real estate Ponzi scheme and another plot he committed while on pretrial release.
