one strategy is to look as big ass possible to scare the bear off, this is why bodybuilding is a life saver.

Wow!!! So crazy!!!! A wild animal known to run very fast is running faster than a car driving slow!!! Unreal!!!
Can we see a video of an eagle flying in the sky with someone watching on their tip toes on ground next???

Look at the size of this guy beside a regular size person if he did a most muscular and grunt at the bear the bear would back down.

Reminds me of the two fellows who were out hiking and were approached by a bear.  One suggested that they stand perfectly still.  The other said, "I'm going to make a run for it."  His friend said, "Are you nuts?  You can't outrun a bear!"  The other said, "I don't have to outrun the bear; I just have to outrun you."

Top running speed of a bear is about 35mph, so you're not going to run away from it, especially if he is already running toward you.  If no high caliber weapon is available, you better try to look as big as possible and make very loud noises.  Playing dead is your last resort.

Bolt clocks in at 27mph. So there is no chance your average joe or jane is going to outrun it. And then you have to figure in uneven terrain, rocks etc. The bear is used to running on that. Best bet is to find the nearest climbable tree if possible or get a stick and try to scare it off. Or back up slowly to a safer area. But turning your back and running will be a bad idea.

And all these tough guys saying they will fight it without heavy firearms - yeah lol! If it is a really small / young bear maybe. A full grown grizzly / polar / black bear?? Good luck!

Id let the bear charge me then use its own momentum and take it straight to the ground. Ill then apply a triangle choke and that ll be it.

I think that a bear would have trouble keeping up with someone in a forest if they weren't being sporting and running in a straight line.
