its easier to overeat....you dont needs thousands of calories over your maintenance to gain maximum muscle tissue.

you need 237 to be exact.

if what I said is true why are you trying to eat your way to 300lbs?

Because that is the only way to get there do you see all those off season bodybuilders over 300 pounds its just glycogen and water in the muscle but it feels good to be the biggest guy in the room.

the only way to get to 300lbs is to eat a huge calorific excess.

Now, whats your point again?

Well the only point I can make is to make sure that all those calories are clean calories I dont add extra salt to my foods and there is no refined sugar or fast digesting carbs, my snacks consist of a jar of natural peanut butter or frozen yogurt, and i normally eat sweet potatoes, quinoa, oats, whole roast chicken, whole eggs, beef etc, because of this i am not looking like a red face bloated mess, i am getting big while keeping my vascularity.

I know what you are hinting at, I dont really care about lean muscle mass right now I just want to get as big as a house but make no mistake while I am bulking up to 300 pounds I am also gaining lean muscle mass and that will be shown if I decide to cut in the future

I don't seem to recall him talking that way in the 1990's. Strange.

you already agreed you dont need to eat your way to 300lbs to gain the optimal amount of muscle so why are you doing it?

Looks very healthy for a septuagenarian. His supplement line is also doing great in Europe, or so I heard.

Best selling Supp-line in Europe!

You're certainly more of an expert on this topic than I am.

What would you suggest as appropriate calories beyond a maintenance level to grow lean muscle tissue?

Understanding of course that everyone is slightly different, but what works for you and other competitors?

In pics you look huge( but also a bit of a permabulker).
What is your weight? How tall are you?

I would say around 200 cals over maintenance is enough to get maximum muscle gains.
Thats the theory, in practice it would be almost impossible to do.
Daily calorie requirements differ every single day.

LOL, I've attempted to be both and failed at both.   ;D

Total permabulker.  I understood about nutrition, but didn't grasp the true sacrifice to lean out.   I'm learning and living that now.

All I'll say about my weight is that it's A LOT LOL.  I've been learning about losing weight for the last 4.5 months and have dropped 63lbs....more to go though but doing good.

I had some health complications that contributed to unexplained weight gain and only recently have things been turning around for the first time in several years.

I'm told today I look like an NFL offensive lineman but unfortunately I'm only 5'11"......I think I just look offensive.   Working to correct.  I'd rather look like a NFL defensive end or a John Cena'ish type....250lbs with blurry abs basically.

In the past I've had touches of bodybuilder, but more often looked like a decently built powerlifter.  Never been shredded....been lean with blurry abs, but never shredded in all types of lighting....just been your classic "kitchen lighting, non-competitor lean"  ;).

I appreciate it.  I'm still trying to lose.  When I reach my goal I'll then need to figure out my caloric maintenance level and then experiment with excess for growing lean tissue again.

Tired of being a big fatty.  What use is big arms and shoulders if a person gets winded climbing 3 flights of stairs LOL!

He's actually a good trainer. Saw him everyday for quite a while. Dudes got a lotta clients. Putbsome size back on as well. Seeing him prep lentarowitz(sp?) was impressive.

Funny thing is I don't think I've ever seen him drive himself. Lol... Even at 11pm. Always had somebody else driving him and just hanging out while he trained clients

Actually Chris is stable mentally, he got out of bbing and moved on, doesn't give a shit how he looks while Kevin is still chasing a dream for whatever reason
