have any of you considered a career as a bouncer?

lots of time during the day to train
at night you can flex your muscles, maybe get into a few fights
girls throwing numbers at you trying to get in

a lot of bodybuilders have done very well in this line of work.

You can definitely make some good coin, all depends on the venue, if you are a door guy at a top club in a major city (Vegas, Chicago, Miami, NewYork, LA) sky is the limit, some of the door guys at the clubs I worked at could pull more than a G' a night, gotta grease the door guy bypass the line, not to mention if you are rolling with no girls, you won't get in unless you grease the door guy. Some of the bouncers I knew would kick out drunk dudes and roll them in the alley, steal their money.. and you'll definitely get a good share of woman too.

No

Worked in various clubs and even did a few rounds working in strip Clubs

Not what you think, good coin, you're a night owl, your off normal people's schedule which seems cool cause all you GBers watch movies all day and the dude that depends on no one is always the badass fact is, your heavily dependent upon others in real life

Some of the biggest dudes I knew where bouncers - one was hit by a F150 breaking up a fight in a parking lot , detached his quadriceps from femur , dude never walked right again, he was doing nationals getting swole every year - sold his car and drove around a pos just to buy more shit and not do ghey shit too
I was stabbed real bad , but most guys end up with a shoulder or bicep tear dude to the jerkiness of moving fat fucks , slipping on shit, falling, sucker punches , douchebags , EVERYONE is drunk at 2am and you just want to leave and blaze

1 Bouncer isn't a career.

2 gay clubs pay better and pay on time... And the patrons behave better usually

3 strippers love drama... And are generally drug addicts (meth coke crack etc...) Working private security for dancers doing parties pays ok. Helps if you're larger and can intimidate people. Wear sunglasses & black batting gloves and carry a collapsible batton. After a while you can book parties for the girls. Guys pay you and you pay the girl.

4 know the law. Don't catch an assault/mayhem charge...or pimping charge. Never do it high or drunk.

5 you're gonna get punched in the mouth and eyes. You're gonna hurt your back and shoulders. Spend some time in a judo or wrestling class or something to learn how to move/control people and learn how to use your bodyweight and leverage.

6 being around strippers will get you desensitized towards naked pretty girls.

7 not a great thing usually when civilian girls find out you work at a strip club (or you spend a lot of time with strippers driving them to parties). They'll think you're fucking them.

8 don't fuck the strippers. Sombody will get jealous and cause trouble

Here's a little unknown secret.  The big money is made operating the back door (no homo).  Too many eyes watching out front.  The club manager sees you getting greased and they'll want a cut.  What we would do is my buddy working at the front would agree on a price to get in.  For big events that are $100, we'd charge $50.  But for sold out events with no ticket sales at the event we'd charge double to triple.  He'd then send them around back telling them loudly that they can't get in without a ticket.  They'd come around back and give me the money and I'd let them in.  We would make serious bank.    Some big sold out events we'd make low 5 figures.  We're talking about major parties, world class DJ's and a lot of people.    Did this for about 1 year until we eventually got caught.  The homo event organizer came around back to get a blow job from a dude and saw me letting people in.  I just quit or was really fired but didn't give a fuck.

Yes they have full medical/dental benefits and an excellent pension plan. Great 'career' choice.

Did it for years when I was younger and pretty much training full time. Turned into bodyguard work for Richard Blade when he was a DJ on KROQ and then Ronnie James Dio (Dio) and then Stryper. Ended when I was working in a Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean night club (was there for 5 years) when one of my best friends, a then Marshall, was shot and killed right in front of me by an Asian gang member, he took three with one missing my head by a couple of inches.

I did it from age 20.  Was a amateur boxer.  Was to small then took up bodybuilding.  Never looked back i loved it.  Eat train sleep then work pubs nightclubs.  Worked with some real tough fuckers in the day early 90s.  These days most are pussies and look like shit and have no balls.  Guess its the times.

'Career' hmmm... interesting angle, never thought of it like that

I did the standard (or so I thought) albeit compressed lifestyle in my twenties - I have a feeling some of this will chime with some of you:

discovered the weights in my late teens
hit the gear in my mid 20s (so that was the mid '90s - BB primetime)
left my proper job (smh)
opened a gym (only lasted 2 years but man it was fun being bad boy central for those 2 summers LOL)
sold 'supplements' *cough*
bounced
even stripped a few times (oh brother)

In search of the easy money we didn't work pubs but did a couple of casino gigs for those 2 years.  Until one night what felt like 20 asian fellas stormed the door with machetes, etc. looking for someone.  Despite them all being 5ft or under and us being the 6ft+ club, there was no way we were stopping them for £40/hr.  Muscles only go so far Haha  :D

Sacked on the spot LOL.  End of 'career'
