We always make Monte Cristo Coffee at Christmas time.   Delicious, and gets you buzzing rather nicely.

I prefer am/pm or 7-11 to Starbucks any day. Vanilla nut or vanilla bean with 75/25 vanilla creamer and Irish cream.... With 10 or so splendas.

Most widely abused drug in the world.  Try doing your job sober, 99% (including myself) will fail.

I suspect that after many years, coffee acts as purely a placebo effect. If you drink the same amount of coffee every day for 10 years, its simply not going to have a physiological effect on you any longer because your body gets used to it. Its like any drug. You have to increase the dose for a desire effect. Thus, any effect the coffee has on one's functioning is purely a placebo effect.

Most people drink coffee because its a cultural "thing." Every morning you have coffee. Its just what youre "supposed" to do.

ps - McDonalds has the best coffee.

Probably the dumbest post I've ever read from you, and that's saying a lot

Go weigh your food, dummy. You're the last person to give any advice on diet or supplements, etc. seriously, look at some of your past posts  :-\ :-\

If you think drinking the same cup of coffee for 30 years has the same effect on ones body, well, then...

Grind coffee the night before, set the timers on the coffee maker, ready to go by 5 am. Two cups in the morning, a Rockstar at 12:45pm like clockwork. No stimulants after that.

I got a cold brew contraption for Christmas, so we'll see how that goes.

I think the French Press and the stove-top octagon shaped things make the best coffee, but I still use the Kuerig for convenience.

ceph, caffeine effects do decrease over time, so SF1900 is right.

Which is why its a good idea to cycle on and off it, i usually take one week off every month and have zero caffeine,  kind of like a reset, when i do this i just replace coffee with hot water with lemon..

If you think drinking the same cup of coffee for 30 years has the same effect on ones body, well, then...

It'll have a lessened effect, sure, but it'll still have a measurable physiological & psychological effect.

The efficacy of caffeine has been proven way beyond any reasonable doubt, even in habitual users

Who said it has the same effect?  You wrote 'its simply not going to have a physiological effect any longer'.

And you're right, I am very hesitant to give diet/supplement advice.  If only everyone were as considerate; yet the world is filled with blockheads like you who blunder through life spewing nonsense without care.

Exactly.  People are truly clueless about their own bodies.

Let me know how the cold brew thing works out, I fancied trying it my self, if I recall correctly you make a big jug up and keep it in the fridge and just warm it up when u need a cup.

French press and ground coffee is awesome
Nespresso machines make decent coffee too

Nespresso's patent has expired so cups can be made by other manufacturers = more choice, easier to buy, and much cheaper.

Nestle has since come up with Dolce Gusto, with which they can make more money as the patent still runs

Mr Coffee drip style percolator for now.  I like espresso but refuse to sacrifice the counter space to some kmart thing.  When I see a kickass one I'll buy it.  Nothing ostentatious, just no goddamn plastic.

Not the best, but surprisingly very good. I'm good for a cup from there a week.
