I'm happy with my iPad for all of my Getbig and other internet needs. But i'm thinking about buying an iMac primarily for my wife to use.Any of you still using a desktop in your home?
What does the desktop provide that the iPad/Laptop would not?Generally for me, it comes down to MS Office, since I use that quite a bit.
I guess the rationale is: If you know that you're never going to take the computer out of your home and will never use the battery, then why buy a laptop? ... when you can get a more powerful (bang for your buck) computer with say a "27-inch Retina 5K display" which should only enhance one's overall entertainment experience during years of use.
That makes sense from a screen perspective, but the portability, even in the house, would trump that for me.
Cant compare an ipad to a desktop.Worlds apart in terms of productivity.
I have a desktop now because I bought a laptop a few years ago and it only lasted about a year and a half before it clunked out on me. For me it is for the durability....a desktop will generally last much longer than a laptop. Laptops will last about 3 years tops if you use them everyday.
Lets see an ipad or any lame apple product play BF1. /thread
