Sorry to be a bit off track here but this has been an interesting read so ..... Thanks, ya'll!
I'm in the process of helping to draft a screen-play based on a good friend who eventually killed himself (twice) as a result of drug addiction .... and some of this input is pertinent and can possibly help to make this 'story' more interesting.
Do any of you formerly addicted GetBiggers recall any Hollywood film that concerned itself about 'drugs' and their adverse affect on individuals other than the following.
LessThan Zero
Rush
Trainspotting
Permanent Midnight
Requiem for a Dream
Drug Store Cowboy
Basketball Diaries
And probably most important .... How did you kick the habit? And what is the possibility of you 'falling off the wagon'. (Old term)
Thanks again.
Had a big long reply to this question however my phone freaking.... So I'll give the condensed version. Perhaps more tomorrow when I have the energy or time...
Only saw a couple of those movies, rec room for a dream and trains body seemed to be on constant replay in rehab and only cut parts of both of them the duck. Seemed a little bit overdramatic eyes from what I saw. And I actually saw Basketball Diaries a couple times, however my experience wasn't quite like that except for the two times when I took Suboxone and THEN did a shot of heroin, producing what is called "precipitated withdrawa".. which is opiate withdrawal x10 ,accelerated X10...
... long story short I got Queen using Suboxone therapy twice. The first time I stopped after 4 maybe 6 weeks and went back to heroin. The second time was on Suboxone for three months, however they only gave me a prescription for three months but I made it last for six starting out at 32 milligrams per day dropping down to 24, then 16, then eight for the remaining maybe six weeks until I went to rehab when they dropped my dose from 8 milligrams per day down to one,to zero. within maybe 3 days I forget. During the second stint on Suboxone therapy I was also simultaneously using heroin. I found that I could used Suboxone early in the day or the previous day and THEN used heroin and still get high, however the opposite was not true and produced like I mentioned earlier the "precipitated withdrawals" (sick to your stomach-type shit you see in the movies).... however in my experience I never really went through bad withdrawals like the precipitated withdrawals because I was always working and hustling and could afford spending $280 per day on 6 grams of heroin per day.
... I left out a bunch of other shit that I had in my previous post, but two answer your second question what would lead to my relapse? That would probably be an injury/surgery, which would require me two use painkillers again.... which is the reason for me relapsing on painkillers / opiates again after being clean off of Nubian for 12 years. ( long story short... Started using nubain for a shoulder injury in 2000... And was prescribed Ultram / Tramadol for maybe a year-and-a-half half full neck and shoulder injuries which good led to heroin.). Does a ton it's getting late and it's been 3 days and I have had maybe three and a half hours of sleep perhaps I will commit more tomorrow
