🚨BREAKING UPDATE: Sarasota woman was found guilty in federal court of making TikTok videos calling for Donald Trump supporters to be shot on sight.

Desiree Doreen Segari, 41, was convicted of interstate communication of a threat to injure.

In one video Segari said, “so if we all get our guns and use our second amendment right … and you see somebody with a MAGA hat, ‘pew pew’ that’s what we do, that’s the way, it’s the only way.”

It was not meant to be interpreted as sarcasm. Whether I like Sarah or not, she and her family should not be refused service unless they did something against the businesses' established policies, like being shirtless, barefoot or otherwise overtly obnoxious.

Although you may be right, how can you know if the owners or managers of these two restaurants think it is perfectly normal behavior?

Did the Sweet Cakes by Melissa owner who refused to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple in 2013 think it was acceptable behavior? If they did, they learned otherwise when The Oregon Bureau of Labor & Industries (BOLI) fined them $135,000. This case went all the way to the Supreme Court in 2019. It is still in litigation. Sweet Cakes by Melissa basically went out of business having to close the bakery.

Personally, I believe most businesses should have the right to refuse service for whatever reason. The law says otherwise.
