Alice is likely my all time favorite band for there songwriting, moodiness, harmonies, and sound. Dirt is a great record.

Yeah,  they're in my top three for sure.

I could be wrong, but I think I bought all of these albums at the same time when my Dad took me to the mall.  Looking back, that was pretty heavy shit for a 5 or 6 year old.

My mother was totally freaked out by the Ozzy album.  But not my incessant playing of Super Freak.

My first was Kiss Alive II. Saw it on the shelf at Zody's and was instantly mesmerized. Begged Ma to buy it. Ended up loving the music, too. Nine years-old, rockin' ever since.

alive and alive 2 is all i knew as a kid at 10 in 1978 until vh1 then it was bye bye kiss and there followup 'dynasty'lol....most live albums then pumped the crowd sound tenfold to make it more dramatic ,frampton comes alive really mass hysteria every note/riff/word sang ,,alive 2 has same effect and alive,,

No one took Aerosmith seriously back in the day and their lead singer looks like a lady and prefers to pump AC/DC over his own fucking music.
I've always liked Livin' On The Edge tho (ugh).



And ESFitness, GnR's Greatest Hits has umm "more hits" than Appetite For Destruction.
Which means it's better.
Appetite For Destruction doesn't even have NOVEMBER RAIN.
Which means - FAIL.

Your PJ hate is misguided, friend (as is your contempt for Metallica). Definitely get points for VH/Aerosmith/Alice - but Pearl Jam is hardrock royalty. As good a debut as any, another couple/few great-to-good records, and a song catalog that rivals anyone since the Beatles.

And live? Forget it. Only Tool and RAtM could match their intensity. I am glad no one's made a case for Nirvana, though. Talk about over-f'n-rated.

I remember very well when I saw that on the shelf of a department store as a kid and being shocked by G Simmon's blood, and P Stanley's almost (in my young mind) makeup free face. I couldn't stop staring at it.
