I like doing IF for the first 6-8 weeks of a cutting diet. But then I find I get way too flat and can't even get a pump in the gym (I'd work out then eat my first meal). I notice that those first week or so I can lift heavier weights, but then after that 2 month mark I plateau, I get gassed in the gym easily, and my endurance goes to shit. That's when I switch back to all day eating, fill out, and coast into summer nice and lean
That's been my experience. Its not a long-term solution for me, but it sure as hell of a great tool to slowly acclimate your body to lower calories without suffering too hard.
