Actually, it's right, prime Tyson was only a 16" arm. Later, when he was around #230, he moved up into the 17" range. Holyfield was in the same range. So was Lewis -

George Foreman and Ken Norton had 18 inch arms easy.   Norton was an absolute beast of massive muscularity.

They don't flex the arm for the measurement in boxing. That is a recent thing. The chest they didn't flex the lats. Many times they didn't even actually tape anything. They just wrote what they thought.

Liston was an underrated champion - had one of the best jabs ever- maybe the BEST -

Should of had title shot earlier than he did, Marciano said he could of beaten Liston- I don't know, the Rock was tough, and he DID BEAT Louis, who at 37 was still a great, great champion- Marciano surviving that jab ......

These boxers came from eras when men were actually men.  They didn't care nearly as much about what they looked like and certainly didn't care about how many inches their biceps were.  Now men do things like shave their bodies and wear yoga pants in the gym.

Supposedly,Sonny's party piece was to walk up to a large door, grasp it by its sides and then casually shrug it off its hinges.

Those 15" arms would have broken your jaw before you knew what was even happening

But on Getbig if you have muscle size and biceps peak like Ronnie Coleman you are the worlds ultimate fighter, ready for the ring and any street fight.

People have NO IDEA what a trained professional boxer is capable of - even a trained, decent amateur, there capabilities are unreal when compared to the average rat in society

Someone like Ali or Liston are literally Godzilla- could walk through ANYBODY in ANY BAR - ANYWHERE !  Their bodies were complete weapons, arm size doesn't matter much, besides the average man has what 13 '' or 14'' inch arms -? Meaning these guys are still big by modern standards

Somebody like Mayweather, a skinny 140 lb. guy would ANNHIALATE anybody on GB - he probably has 13'' arms

Muscle size doesn't always equal being a BEAST

I think MMA is vastly superior to boxing.  It's an interesting comparison that barely ever gets talked about.  What are your thoughts?

2 different animals for sure. Take a world champ MMA practitioner and they destroy a world champ boxer in a no holds barred fight- same body weight etc...
I think the MMA fighter is just that - a BETTER FIGHTER overall, but the trained boxer is truly a practitioner of the "sweet science"
The MMA fighter is more complete no doubt, but in a street fight, the stand up is going to be HUGE important, you don't want to be on the ground in a street fight with a possible multiple attackers situation- being good with hands AND feet ( MMA) can be a deadly combination in a street fight too

Just my 2 cents friend
