Tbh even though I'm American, I always liked the European system better, since it goes smallest to biggest (day, month, year).

There is a actually a good reason to write dates yyyy/mm/dd...most software will automatically arrange files in chronological order when the date is written into the first characters of a file name in this way...But we Yanks won't do it.
