I can say I know a hell of a lot of convicts and most always go back to jail.They find life easier in there as that's all they know.At least the idiots I've known,they can't handle real life.

I would guess that some people find the environment (i.e., landscaping, perceived/real status and value, etc.) pleasing to the eye.  Property values would likely be higher given the level of income required to buy there as well as the usual one of location, location, location.

Most go back because they cant support themselves , the rest can't stay away from drugs or alcohol and get parole violated. I got released early from parole because I had zero violations even though I was on "high control" parole.
