Ron, Assad is a secular leader who for the past several years, has fought against the the worst forms of Islamic terrorism within his country. The parts of Syria which he controls are areas in which people of all religions coexist. The rebel held territories are in the control of various jihadist groups who would turn Syria into a sharia state if given the chance.
Israel dislike Assad and want him removed. Netanyahu has made this clear. And now the US seem to be doing the work. It adds up. I'm not one of those who blames Zionism on all the worlds problems...but in this case, it is a problem.

You say that radical Muslims are hell bent on destroying Israel, but then why doesn't Israel support a regime which is fighting against the radical Muslims? The fact that sharia states like Saudi Arabia support these airstrikes is only because they want Syria to go the same way they have gone.

Nobody's blaming Jews. The situation on the continent is what it is. It is an interwoven set of actions and reactions that is very hard to predict but Israelis thinking that they will get back at Hezbollah therefore Iran by their recent actions are severely mistaken.
Sunnis are not in much in love with Israel either. Once (if) Shia's are affected by Israeli/American actions and Sunnis have prevalence in the regions, they'll stab Israel in the back.
