I wear one for squats and deads, even at light weight. I have a trick back and it does seem to help me.

Back in the day we wore it all through the workout on every bodypart except abs.

Bet you wish you'd held on to that belt....  I mean, imagine what a dinosaur-skin belt would fetch nowadays..?   :D

Haven't used a belt in 20 years.  All I take to the gym is my towel and a couple of thin grip cloths...

Centuries ago when I owned my own gym, it was amusing to see how many guys would either walk in off the street - or back out again - wearing a fully cinched belt and some of those fingerless velcro lifting gloves  ;D.... it can't have been a co-incidence that they were usually the ILS guys on Team Penguin Waddle....

Mind you, during this period I sported the obligatory fanny-pack/bum-bag, low-trap top and clown pants combination (oh brother :P), so who the f**k am I to judge!?...

Its usually used by guys that have a gut to hold it in, or guys that have no v taper so they cinch it tight as fuck thinking it will give them one.  They aren't needed unless you're a powerlifter.

Gave it up 15 years ago and haven't considered one since.

Only wore it due to stupid BB magazines.
