I wish there were spoiler tags for these boards. I would give a spoiler review for those that wanted to read it.
Anyway, surprised by the positive posts.
Huge Star Wars fan.
Big disappointment for me.
Seems to be pissing off a lot of the diehards as well.
Movie will be polarizing like the PT was.
A few things:
There is a ridiculous space scene that is laughable beyond words. Maybe the worst Star Wars scene ever.
Character comeback, but he doesn't look right. No, not Luke.
Contradictions everywhere.
A couple of new characters just thrown away. One was supposedly super important. Guess not.
Ridiculous out-of-character behaviors, powers, etc.
Praetorian Guard fight scene is best thing/scene in movie.
Critics may be praising, but it has always been my long held belief that they know nothing about the franchise.
Ending is going to be majorly controversial in the fan community. In my opinion, major blunder in both execution and resolution.
Wish I could be more specific, but I don't want to spoil.
No fan of this Rian Johnson guy. He was given too much power... leeway.
In my opinion, he doesn't know Star Wars so a lot of stuff seems/feels weird. Plus, he screws up a lot of the basics.
Box office will determine success or failure.
If it makes considerably less than The Force Awakens, fans will have their ah-ha moment. Disney may reevaluate.
If it meets or exceeds it, like it or hate it simply becomes opinion.
Lots of message boards have these spoiler tags [spoil][/spoil] which either closes that part of the post and requires clicking to open it, or it makes the text invisible unless you highlight with cursor. I wish we had that on these boards.EDIT: Last comment. While I am no fan of JJ Abrams, this Johnson guy shit on a lot of what he did in The Force Awakens. Abrams is being brought back to do Episode IX after Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow was fired from the project. I really wonder what he thinks of this film.
