Whenever a new Star Wars movie is on the way, I remember all of the hype surrounding the prequels, specifically Episode I: The Phantom Menace.

It was the start of the whole "following the production of a movie through the internet" thing.

The fan sites with secret spoiler information, the official stuff released by Lucas, the total chaos with the release of the trailers, etc.

There was nothing quite like it back then.

Anyway, all of that makes me think of this classic episode of The Simpsons which really went after Lucas and The Phantom Menace hard after so many felt disappointed by the first Star Wars movie in sixteen years.

There is a rumor going around that the so-called "Force tree" spoiler from some months back may be true now that we do see a tree in the new teaser. It seems to be holding books.

Some believe it since there does appear to be a giant tree in the film.

It looks like Luke might actually be in the tree when he states that "it is time for the Jedi to end."

Since George Lucas began releasing the prequels in 1999, Vanity Fair magazine has done a cover story for each of the films, including back in 2015 with The Force Awakens.

Famed photographer Annie Leibovitz has been the exclusive photographer for these shoots, hyping the latest film in the Star Wars saga.

This time, in anticipation of Star Wars - Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, Vanity Fair is releasing the issue with four different covers.

They hit newsstands on June 1st.
