Is that way there are about 20 other articles that made that the headline of their story? Again, why did Stanford even accept that as a legit essay? Would he have been accepted with the same accomplishments and being white with an essay of #bluelivesmatter ?
For fucks sake use some damn commonsense.
You're not using common sense. Common sense would dictate that he was accepted because of his MANY accomplishments, not because of one essay. Only an imbecile who cannot use common sense would think otherwise. Its quite clear this kid STANDS out.
Why did Standford accept it as a legit essay? Who knows. As stated previously, it is up to Stanford, not you, to set the writing guidelines for their essays. If they didn't set specific guidelines, then he took a shot and it paid off.
You ask, "Would he have been accepted with the same accomplishments being white with an essay of "bluelivesmatter?" Most likely yes, considering Stanford is 36% White, 21% Asian, 6% African American, etc. So, there are still more white kids in Stanford than any other race.
As for writing "Bluelivesmatter" it would depend largely on his background. If he had a background in criminal behavior and law, then he would have stood a shot because his past experiences would have coincided with "blue lives matter." Just like the 18 year olds essay about "black lives matter" coincided with his past experiences. They look at the applicant in a holistic manner.
